Again, it's hard to make a shoe that takes two years of design/production when the guy's body/needs have changed so drastically in the last year.  Also, the current iteration is from 2020, so he hasn't had the same shoe for 5 years.

You do understand that just because the shoe is called the TW20 doesn't mean it was released in 2020. Check the film from the 2019 Masters.

You realize he was wearing that shoe for like 2 years prior to it being released to the public in 2020? It took years for them to bring it to the public after Tiger started wearing them.

Nike should be embarrassed. Imagine Jordan showing up to play for the Wizards wearing some Adidas because they couldn't make a shoe to fit his needs. Goes to show you how lazy and inept they are in what used to be the golf division.

great point, would never happen!

This happens fairly regularly even with pro's constant input.  Kyrie was not initially happy with his shoes this year and Lebron wouldn't wear a pair of his new shoes a couple years ago.  The difference is they have a lot larger backlog to play-in.  No one's needs has changed more than Tigers from a foot perspective.  He went from the TW 13's to the double strap, to last year's more traditional model, all because of completely different needs due to injuries.

He never wore the double strap shoes...maybe one tournament and 'm not even sure he even he did that.

point is, Tiger has been wearing his current shoes for like 5 years now. He plays with JT all the time who wears footjoy, I'm sure JT mentioned for him to try these shoes on his leg, they are probably pretty comfortable so he went with it.

The TW20 shoes are very comfortable but they are pretty plain jane basic shoe. It looks like a bit more went into these footjoy shoes and higher quality.

While the move to FJ shoes is interesting, I think its more interesting to see him  not only leaving the metal spikes but going all the way to spikeless.

I assume no spikes (soft or metal) reduce the pressure points.

TBD - G430 Max 15* - 818 H2 19*- Sub 70 Pro 23* - i525 6-U - SM9 54* / 58* / 62*  - F22

could be to reduce torque on the foot/leg, do they even make that footjoy shoe with spikes? That probably has something to do with it as well.

Another good point, I'm not entirely sure.

His have spikes in them if you look at the picture showing the bottom of the shoe.  You can see the metal spikes he's used over the years on these shoes.

This is a big deal.

One of Nike's mottos is "made to the exact specifications of championship athletes. They should change it to made by the lazy and unimaginative members of our once creative golf division.

What would happened in Serena showed up at Center Court Wimbledon wearing Under Armor, Ronaldo at the Champions League Final wearing Puma, LeBron at the NBA Finals wearing Adidas. All while under contract to wear Nike footwear.

Tiger is the greatest champion they have in their stable and they can't get him a shoe he likes???? Nike is a footwear company at its core, come on..... He played in the PNC over the holidays. It would seem to me that 4 months is plenty of time to get arguably the greatest golfer to have ever lived a pair of shoes. by the global leader in footwear.

Nike doesn't care about Golf. If they did this wouldn't be the first shoe that shows up on their website and Tiger wouldn't be wearing FJ's.air-max-97-g-nrg-golf-shoes-NmHRpr.png.jpeg.d6fa163ac9ab4fec36e88845720d5c23.jpeg

Nike probably proposed an orange colorway as the TW22. I'd switch to FJ, too.

Well, I have said this from the minute that I walked out of the Nike Golf facility in Fort Worth ( the old Stites Golf Inc. facility) years ago. We had been wined and dined, showed some great presentations, they trotted out a few big names to shake hands. But after all that pomp and circumstance, there was no substance in the product. Nike is not a sporting goods company, they are not a sporting goods manufacturer; Nike is a marketing company through and through, that happens to sells some sporting goods!

This is evident in the entire life cycle of the Nike Golf brand. They have forgotten the core and try to keep up on the "cool" factor.
