Anyone go Driver, 3HL/4W then 5W?

Top of my bag is driver, 5w turned down to 4 wood (17*) Heavenwood (20*). I like this setup very much.

I did, then returned the 5 wd for a 7 wd. Wanted more height - the MMT shaft cut down the height of the 3HL and  5 wd in the ST Max, so opted for a 42.5 inch 7 wd.

I’m not that but I am super hybrid at 16 and 3H at 18. Although thinking of 3HL and then either lofting up the super or keeping the 3H

I actually think this is a great idea, but to make the gapping work a short 5 wood (41-41.5 inches) would be ideal. This has the side benefit of making it like a really forgiving hybrid that can still be beat down on to get a low flight in the wind.

Ya I have a shaft that plays at 41.5” that I would plug into a 5W or a 7W

This is what I do, although I tend to play my fairways shorter anyway. My 16.5* M5 is 42.5" turned down to 15.75* and my 19* M5 is 41.5" and turned down to 18.25*.

that's my setup for last 2 years. I had D,3w,(16) and 3h but changed to 5w and it's been kicking butt since.

Wind…lots of it. 7W is a high flight club and I would assume it would get chewed up and lose distance

Nothing wrong with that if it gaps well. I only have 1.5d gap in my 4 and 5 so its too bunched. I tend to use the 5 when carrying less clubs instead of a 16.5/21 4/7 combo. Or if I put the 4w in timeout, I can go 5/7. 🙂

I have 10.5 driver, 16.5 stealth plus l, 18 tsi2 turned up to 19. Works well when I work well lol

16.5 Stealth 3HL to 21 Degree Stealth 7 wood .  10 degree Driver.  No problems with those gaps

Did you go 18.75 or 19.5 on your TSi2? That sleeve adjusts loft at .75* intervals.

 

I'm experimenting with my 3w, 5w and hybrid gapping. Right now I've got the following:

 

3W at 15.75* (cut down to 42.5")

5W at 19.5* (cut down to 41.5")

Hybrid at 23* (std length of 39.5")

 

after that my 5i is 26*

I am in my eleventh season of playing 3HL or 4W (~16.5° - 17°) and 7W (~20° - 21°).

 

7W gives me more of a distance spread between the fairway metals.

3HL 7W here too. 7W is about 225 and comes down like a raindrop. If you dialed the 5w down to a 6w and shortened the shaft a little you might get a better gapping.

I play Driver and then 2 5w.  One is a Stealth plus with a low/low shaft set at 17.5 degrees, the second is a radspeed 5w set at 19.5 with a high launch/mid spin, then a F9 21.5 7w.

Just need to (be able to) adjust the head weight if you go with shortshafted 5-wood. But I think it makes sense with many golfers. Depends on your launch conditions, spin. Check this one out, it's right on the topic:
