Fujikura Ventus TR - Black & Red

Ian Fraser TXG put up on his stories that TR Red and Black are being released today. Been waiting a long, long time for the TR Red.

Need need need that Ventus TR Red for my fairways.  If the profile is improved similarly to how the Blue was, then I will be extremely happy.

Hopefully the reviews start coming in today.  With only a couple months left of my golf season, I won't likely change until the off season.  But, man I am super curious how these play compared to their predecessors.

I bought a Blue TR as soon as they were available and mine has held up all year 🤷‍♂️

TR Red could be an amazing combo for A LOT of players.....

 

TR Black will likely be a board but I'm sure the WRX'ers will be tipping it 1.5"

Wonder when they'll be truly available.  Club tournament is like 2 weeks away.  Hypothetically, it would be kind of sweet to have them in play by then...

The Blues were available real soon after the release I would imagine these will be no different.

 

Update: JD's clubs is already taking preorders.

I was hoping for the bass boat colors (sparkles) like the Blue TR, but I don't see that in those pics. Shame.

this is not a drill…get your pre-orders in with a titleist tip, so all of you guys can stick it into the TSr you’re inevitably about to buy. In a few months there will also probably be a successor to the ZX7s, so you can get your ultimate WRX bag in shape by January 🙂

I like the blue, the red in fairways could be extremely good.. Super curious about these..

Per another site, they will be available at the end of August. 
 

It sounds like TR Black and Red are slightly lower spin and launch than their standard Ventus siblings, as expected given what TR Blue is. 

 

I’m sure there will be good coverage of this on WRX later today.

I have tried the Red in driver probably 4 different times.  With how automatic my 3 wood was with it, I thought there had to be some benefit for my driver.  I just could never quite get it to click.  It just seemed to lack a certain feel.  I even went the "purple" route.  Just was off by the smallest of margins with it.  I wonder if this is a little bit tighter overall and a little lower spinning if the TR Red will actually be able to compete in that spot.

Ugh, just when I thought I had my bag set for the rest of the year.........Ventus Red TR might be the unicorn I'm looking for my 3 metal.  Just need something that feels like the Diamana ZF that's a bit more stable/anti-left.

agreed the Blue TR looked very nice

Sweet! Looks like the red has changed a bit.  At least on paper.  Lower torque, higher weight, higher kick point.  Would you guys say that this new version would maintain a similar launch?  Or would we be looking at slightly lower as the spec sheet would lead me to believe?

All TR profiles are designed to promote slightly lower launch and spin than original

Yup! Now I am definitely interested in giving this a try in the driver as well as my 3 and 7 woods. Lets be honest, they are pretty much all but guaranteed to find their way into my fairways.  And, I am always looking for a new driver shaft experiment.  This year was kind of a downer since the Blue TR pretty much stole the show haha.
