Looks like Rick was using a new 3w, guessing its the latest aerojet, they said something about rails as well? I'm not that clued up on the Cobra stuff so could be a model older than the LTDx stuff

There’s no tool to help his motion. Until he learns to pivot his sternum and stop flipping his hands he’s going to struggle no matter what club he’s using. Enjoy the guys videos, but he’s got the short game of a 18 hdcp.

The sound of Rickie's driver was pure. The drive he hit over the trees on the short Par 4 to set up eagle was phenomenal.

Rick is lucky that he was early in the YouTube golf content game. If he would’ve been late to the game he would’ve never gotten off the ground. I like him and his content but a “pro” who can’t hit a simple pitch or chip shot is a joke. What are England’s qualifications to be considered a teaching pro and give lessons? Is it similar to the PGA program in the USA?

i think the go to school/college for it......i swear i heard him say that he and finch went to school for it.

Not all pro's can play, that's for sure. But he definitely needs to go back to reviewing clubs/products. The last thing I want to see, is him hack it around against tour pro's, that's him ego stroking and letting everyone know how big he's become. But I guess I don't blame him, it gets views. Hope he keeps reviewing clubs and I can choose to ignore the podcasts and break 95 that he does.

To be fair he shot 8 over off the tiger tee's at Medallist, when still trying to find his game... yeah he hit a couple of bad shots but you cant knock that, especially with added nerves. Plus he's open and honest that his short game is awful.

 

Remember several years ago when Tiger couldn't hit a simple chip shot without fatting it?

 

Also, you don't need to be incredible at golf to be a teaching pro, just a certain handicap and a knowledge of the golf swing. He used to be a better player than he is now, by a mile but since becoming a father and doing less frequent videos he has lost his game a bit, especially so in the last year or 2.

 

This video was one of the better videos I have seen on any Youtube channel in ages - The editing was unreal and Rick played decent, and only hit a handful of poor shots considering how tough that course is. I much prefer this over the costco reviews.

 

Back on track to the thread though - interesting that he has put the Aerojet in play already, shows its a good head. If its still in the bag come his next start its a winner.

 

It will be good when he starts up his equipment review channel in the new year, back to what he did best, alongside more of these pro vlogs. Plus, if he keeps up with the lessons and plays decent that will make it even better.

He has launched a new club review channel, he says he will start putting videos on there in the new year (I suspect it will kick off with the new TM drivers and other new gear due for launch early Jan to make the biggest impact)

To only shoot +4 over the next 16 holes, off the Tiger tee's was actually impressive. Fowlers course management definitely helped Rick for sure.

People are acting like Rick is a hack cuz he flubbed some pitches. He still shot +8 from the tips at the medalist. The course is 7700 yards and brutally tough. Plus he doubled the first two holes, so he played the final 16 holes at +4. 
 

From those tees the medalist has a +7 differential on the handicap system.  Not sure what people think most teaching pros are shooting under those conditions.

Enough of Shiels...sheesh...Lets get back to the Aerojet.  With Rickie gaming it and hitting it pretty well, it's safe to say that the driver is very good.  It already has some early buzz from MGS and TXG from there on-site testing in California, but couldn't say much until Jan 10th, 2023 when the embargo is lifted.  This driver really is on the radar for me and looking forward the reviews that will be coming out.

Funny how the look of a club can really grow on you. I thought Aerojet looked horrendous at first, but after seeing it more and more and comparing to my LTDx, my eyes have really began to wander 👀.

Shiels does not really do reviews anymore. Other than his glad-handing, if that’s what you enjoy watching, he is largely irrelevant now.

Not sure if mentioned already but Bryson has a video on his YouTube channel, his latest “WITB” and he references the Aerojet driver saying he’s super pumped for it. Video was made 4-5 months back. 
interesting he’d reference it while they were promoting the latest ltd drivers
