It's been used for 25 years in ~25 tournaments a year. Plus practice, plus off day rounds. How do you think it should look? Jeebus you people!

Not being facetious here, but I think IF Tiger ever decided to put it up for auction, the opening real bid would/should be North of $1,000,000 and likely higher.  That being said, I don't think for a minute that it ever would come up for auction.

Proof that if it works, it works.  Those are "character" marks all over that thing!  🤣

Anyone know what the exact specs are of that thing?

Head weight?

Loft?

Lie?

Length?

The shaft appears to still be a stepped shaft, not an un-stepped shaft, like all of the Scotty's sold today.

Rickey’s was a copy too. Found it while getting a fitting at Cameron’s shop. I believe that Tiger’s  putter was actually milled by Robert Betinardi.

One of the stories is that Tiger gave Rickie (or someone) one of his backups to use for themselves. After they putted with it for a while, they brought it back and said it didn’t really work, and he said, “That’s why it is the backup”.

I may have this completely wrong, so feel free to correct.

Why wouldn't he get that refinished ...

1, Refinishing would take it out of his hands fora bit and 2. He’s probably concerned that would screw up the feel.

OBVIOUSLY not to actual scale - but the relative scale is correct...the wear mark is ever so slightly heel side of the sight dot and ever so slightly toe side of actual geometric center.

Fowler ended up with one and gamed it for a few years.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

Only thing I can remember is head weight was like 323g without lead tape I think and length was 35.25" and loft was 3.3. There is a few articles out there or used to be but who knows what exact specs he is rocking for 2023

So, if we look at the usual Scotty Cameron putter head weighting from back in the day this was made, the 35" retail putters were like 330grams.  (The 34" ones were 340g, and the 33" ones were 350g).  All that being said, it basically IS a reproduction of an old PING Anser 2 putter.  A head weight of 323g would be lighter than the usual 330g had for a 35" length putter.  Since Tiger's is 1/4" longer than standard, that might attribute to the 7g less in head weight, or they could have been trying to closely copy an old stainless steel PING Anser 2.  Brilliant!

Tiger definitely has a feel and knows what he wants.  He doesn't want them heavier, or lighter, unless he is adding the lead tape under special circumstances.  The fact the tape has come off means he doesn't like it, or need it.

I would also guess that potentially any back ups that are left, might be slightly heavier or lighter, which I am positive he can tell.  (Even Jack Nicklaus could tell if there was an extra wrap of tape under a grip back in the day.  I would guess Tiger's feel is as good.)

I believe you're referencing a young Tiger himself using a backup -- Mark O'Meara's backup and losing to him by 1 shot in the '98 Open Championship!! Afterwards Mark said to him “why do you think it’s the backup? It always comes up one shot shy.” 🤣

Agreed, pretty crazy the amount of feel these guys have!

I would be curious to know what conditions warrant a change in weight for him. I personally play a lighter 330g putter for super slick/fast which is what Tiger is on 99% of the time and I slowly go up in putter weight if greens are slower. Highly doubt I could tell if an extra wrap or a few extra grams of tape were thrown on though! Who knows! But even a few strips of tape can't be more then what 5-7g max? He isn't changing the putter a ton, I definitely find it interesting to say the least!
