I don't know but for me personally, the X grind plays like a really low bounce wedge. I have the MD4 version. The V grind looks like a ton more bounce up front when squared. But I've never had a V grind in hand. I'll see next week.

 

Vokey D grind played with more bounce than Callaway X in my. hands.

@JDIL funny you dug that thread up, Dan is the one who introduced me to the V-grind. It gave me much more margin for error than the M-grind. 

 

The Callaway C-grind on the X-Forged and first few generations of Jaws wedges worked well for me too. Those have high bounce with lots of heel relief as well.

Dan's the reason I've been hunting one for the past few years and even hit up Titleist and their forums a few times to hopefully nudge them Lol. I rarely pay retail for golf equipment but just might have to with this one. I figured I was willing to spend $100 on a V grind each year I've been looking so full retail is only about 50% of that amount anyway. 😄

 

Have not played the C grind but for me, the X grind on the MD4 plays like low bounce for me. Could just be my delivery etc.

I think the v is just as versatile but the bounce lets you make the hard shots easier to me. I used to play the m grind in TVD generations and I really liked it but I could stick it in ground sometimes. I’ve played the v in everything from soft wet conditions to hard firm at sawgrass and it’s great.

I’ve seen zero news or reviews on this in the vault. So I just took a chance on it and it’s been working out great with similar characteristics to the V grind minus the high toe full face part of it.

Completely different animals IMO.

 

I play on Bermuda and the V grind worked even when it was wet. The eye sole plays like a low bounce wedge and tended to dig on into the grain lies.

I used one all last season, still in the bag this season, will need a replacement soon. Love this wedge though 

 

great out of bunkers with the wide sole but can also nip them off tight lies really easily

How close does the leading edge lay to the ground when opened up? If possible, when laid open, how does it compare to M grind?

Here's the V Grind from 2015 and a limited Hand Ground offering!

Channel reduces the trailing edge and effectively reduces the overall bounce.

Amazing on the tight Bermuda lies in AZ and effective out of the desert as the pictures show!

Lays super flat. I have this one bent 3 degrees flat
