I'm surprised I haven't seen this one here yet, but it looks like Vokey is going to do a limited run release of the V grind next week via WedgeWorks. They posted it on their instragram earlier today.

Any play these previously? What did you think and what were the pros/cons?

I have an older non-conforming V-grind and still use it. The M-grind tends to dig for me, both because of softer course conditions and (flawed) technique, but the V does what I need it to do. Fantastic out of most sand types around here as well.

Funny thing is I was deciding between the D-grind and Jaws X-grind earlier today and couldn’t decide, then saw the Vokey Instagram post and now I guess I’m waiting for 5/16.

I believe when reading about prior models, it's like 10 when you use it square shots, but opening it up it has like dual camber or something so it plays very low bounce opened up.  There was an old golfwrx article on it I believe.

10 was what they actually stamped on, the front bounce angle (angle from leading edge to the bottom of the V) was easily more than 20 IMO.

Similar to the Ping Glide T grind which has 6 stamped on it but the front bounce angle is 20 according to Ping.

It was literally the best wedge grind ever made. Ping T/TS grind is almost as good...almost.

And yes, I'm definitely getting a WW one next week. I missed the last V-grind release through WW (5-6 years ago?) and regret it every day.

It's funny, I have searched "Vokey V grind" and I get two different grinds. One has a channel in the sole and the other looks more like a M grind that Puppetmaster posted above. From the IG photo, looks like we get the channel.

Can anyone describe the benefits to the channel in the sole?

Pretty sure there's never been a channel, but I could be wrong.

Here's the old WW release from 2016: https://www.titleist.com/teamtitleist/b/tourblog/posts/vokey-wedgeworks-introduces-new-v-grind-wedges

And looks like David Dusek just posted about it here: https://golfweek.usatoday.com/2023/05/11/titleist-limited-edition-wedgeworks-v-grind-wedge/

The one with the channel is actually a P grind from back in the day. P for Phil. Leading part digs, trailing part helps kick it through.  Not very popular, sits very low bounce square but works well for a digger.

So is this relatively similar to the Callaway X grind? High measured bounce in the front with a decent amount of relief (maybe more than the Callaway)?

We're going on a Minimalist Adventure who knows were we'll end up:

"Full" 10-Club Bag currently looks like this:

Taylormade BRNR Mini Copper 13.5

Taylormade Sim Max 7w Mitsubishi Diamana F Limited 75S

Titleist 818H1 25* Fuji Atmos Black 9s

Callaway Mavrik Pro 7-PW Project X Rifle Tour Flighted 105 6.0

Vokey SM9 50.08F

Vokey SM9 56.10S

Thanks for the replies. So if I am putting this together correctly, it looks like this is like:

T-grind with 10* bounce instead of 4*

or

M-grind with more aggressive sole relief

Does that sound about right for those of you that have played them before?

Titleist TSR2 - 8* Ventus Red TR 6X
Titleist TSi2 - 15* - Ventus Red TR 7X
Titleist TSR3 19* Hybrid
Titleist U500 - 4 iron DG TI X-100

Titleist Vokey SM9 (46*, 52*, 56*, 60*) raw

I used to have the SM6 WW V grind, great out of the bunker and green side rough but terrible for me with tight lies, sold it on the BST a few years back. 10* on the bounce.
