If you noticed about 4 or 5 months ago, the whole "anti LIV" talk seemed to die everywhere, players, sat radio, tv (except Brandel). Something happened all of sudden talk about lIV players playing in Ryder Cups etc... This has been in the works for sometime...

Tour likely didn't want their non-profit status scrutinized and litigated in court.  I honestly cannot wait to hear from Brandel, Phil, Rory, etc.  Assuming LIV guys keep the cash, they have to be absolutely ecstatic.  Guessing even the players were blindsided by this, otherwise it would have leaked.

I was JUST coming around to thinking that LIV was an overall good thing for the game by elevating the majors even more (acknowledging that I only really care about like 5 regular PGA tour events/year). Like, we had these 4 sacred tournaments a year where EVERYONE showed up and all the creme-de-la-creme was there. And I sort of enjoyed the LIV vs PGA rivalry at the Masters/PGA this year. 

 

But what in the actual **** is going on here? 

 

The mental gymnastics from the LIV haters is going to be glorious though. I can't wait to listen to Brandel talk about how this is totally different from when LIV was backed by the Saudis but somehow this entity is not.

So the Saudi's now have a stake in the PGAT?  I couldn't imagine this working out better for them.  They got literally everything they wanted.  How is the PGAT going to backtrack all the human rights offenses statements they were making?

Sat reading this whilst listening to Radio 1 (at my age, I am definitely way beyond the target demographic) and it was even mentioned on the News section there that this has just happened. That NEVER happens.

Sorry to see you lose a sport, I'm guessing if you put aside the media propaganda behind it you could bear to watch again. I'm sure you use 20 different services or products on a daily basis that are being funded by the same PIF fund and you manage just fine. No real difference here.

More seriously I wasn't a huge fan of LIV, although I did see it as more golf to watch. However after all the vitriol that came over from the PGA Tour today's news is.....amusing :)

Yeah, until the details are fully baked seems like massive win for LIV players.  Massive loss for Rory and Greg Norman both
