Sean Toulon Gone From Callaway

Saw this on Twitter and in the 2023 Toulon putters thread. Wonder what he's going to do next and will Callaway keep his name on putters?

Will be interesting to see evolution of products going forward both from Sean Toulon and Callaway/Odyssey. Curious as to the status of the jailbreak patents since it was rumored that was one of the reasons Sean Toulon was brought on board with Callaway/Odyssey.

The Zevo driver patents were a big reason for  the Toulon signing. He has done a lot of great things for golf equipment. Hopefully it is a win win for us like Cleveland and that Roger guy who both continue to make great wedges.

Yes and I believe he’s their main tour rep. Has been on some of the videos with Johnny Wunder in the past.

interesting, but 99% of people that use a "Callaway" putter, use an Odyssey.

This is good news for Callaway/ Odyssey. The Garage program was a dud imo. 
 

That being said Sean was a phenomenal guy on this website and I think has had a lot of success with TM and at times with Callaway. 
 

I will be following and supporting!

TwoLawn putters since the old name is probably property of Callaway now.

I'd doubt it. He's already worked there and I'm sure his employment at Callaway has a non compete clause for a certain amount of time after he leaves. He has enough money he doesn't need to work for someone else at this point.

Not having all the neck options on every head definitely didn't do them any favors with the Garage

Interested to see what happens next. The Toulon designs look nice enough, but they certainly aren't in the the first few names that come to mind when thinking of premium milled putters.

I met Sean earlier this year and you could tell he has tremendous passion for what he does. Maybe his contract was up and just decided he wanted to go another direction? It is interesting how much bigger the Odyssey branding got on the Toulon putters the last few years. Kinda the opposite of Cameron/Titleist.

Pretty reasonable assumption, IMO. My guess would be during the lull in the early winter PGA Tour calendar.

Sean is great.  He has my support also.  It is almost impossible to get the older weights and I sent him a message and weight sent.  Someone who cares enough about his product and customer base to reach back like that speaks volumes.

Agreed, Sean has always treated me well. From a putter perspective I never really understood the Garage though. It seemed like it could have been a lot better of a program (similar to PLD), but they opted to just charge a lot of money for really basic options. I think part of that may have been Callaway and not actually Sean, but I do often wonder what could have been. 

 

Interested in what Odyssey has planned next for milled putters and what Sean has in store for his team.

hopefully odyssey will revamp the protype milled line up and bring them out again
