If you look at the MPF data on them (which I know the score is kinda useless but the numbers are interesting), they're almost exactly the same club.  It seems like every single brand has this players iron that despite being viewed as entirely different clubs, are basically the same when you look at the mechanics.  T100/150, S55/BPS, Apex CB, ZX7, JPX Tour, Cobra King tour.  Funny enough Taylormade is the one brand that's lacking that iron. The tour preferred CB is the last one that fits in that category, which makes sense that they have a lot of combo sets in their tour players (they also have a lot of blade players).  That's what I assume the proto everyone's hyping up is going to be for them.

 

But they're all 1.2ish C dimension (distance from COG to hosel), vertical COG right at .8, and ~13MOI.  Almost all of those player cavity's are dead same in those regards, which means it's all personal preference.  Titleist is a little different since all their clubs have way higher MOI and lower COG.

I’ve played about 4 rounds with these now. Love them, but the feel is what really impresses me.

I hit these and love but hitting too high(in power spec). First time I’ve  ordered a R instead of S in Steelfiber.  Hit 60 years old but still have very good SS.  I figured wrong. My fault. I have previous clubs in garage with Steelfiber stiff.  Any problem having them pulled and put in the BP S?

Finally got these back and had a range session. I love the feel of them and how they look beside the ball.

I recently hit these and they are nice irons. Feel, size, and forgiveness is very close to an S55. I think the S55 looks better though.

I haven't, but I'm thinking about getting a 4 as-is. Why bend it when it flies high as a kite anyhow?

The Blueprint S is longer heel-to-toe than the S55.

These irons are so good. Had a great time on the course with them today. I was surprised at the distance I was getting, they are weaker lofted than my old irons but I was hitting them further.

Anyone else dealing with some longer than expected build times from Ping? I ordered a set of Blueprint S and S159 wedges the 1st week of May that initially had a ship date of 5/29. Just got notification that it’s now looking to be 6/28 at the earliest. A little frustrating as the builds are mostly standard (Dynamic Gold shafts, Tour Velvet grips) and the reason for the delay are the shafts.

Ordered 5-PW Blueprint S and a 159 50 degree wedge all with Recoil Dart 75 regular shafts on 3 April (nine weeks).

 

The Blueprints showed up last Wednesday 5 June.

 

Still no word on the 159 gap wedge........

The shafts are also the reason for my delay. I went with X100 shafts in BPS 4-PW Golf Pride Align Midsize MCC Grips. I was told mid-June build time with a late June ship. I ordered in early May.

I’m my case it’s both. Got the 120 X100s in the irons, regular X100’s in 46/50/54, and S400 in 58.

How would everyone think about moving to these irons after playing a Srixon 545/745 iron combo set the last few years? I'm looking for a thinner iron set overrall, and I tried the i59 but was not a big fan of them compared to the feel of the 745. 

 

I'm not looking for distance, just consistent spin, a little bit of forgiveness on a mishit (I tend to hit towards the toe on a bad strike), and a nice feel.

Have you swung the Mizuno JPX 923 Tour model irons?  They have a thinner topline than the Srixon's and a long enough heel-to-toe length that shots struck a bit towards the toe achieve relatively good distance and accuracy.

Man I'm sorry to hear that, I literally ordered a set 5-P red dot, 1 degree weak, Nippon 130X, MCC+4 Align +2 wraps on 6/4, and they were waiting for me in the pro shop yesterday 6/11. I've never had such a quick turnaround for a full set of irons. I think these irons are legit, I never got along with my old T100's (couldn't find the middle), and was having some success with 620 MB's, but my mishits were coming up shorter than expected. These really blew me away during my round yesterday.

i230 is an oversize head while the Blueprint T is a compact size head, so I doubt if any player has made a combo set of these two models.

I haven’t, but I own i230, blueprint s (4-5) and blueprint t (6-pw). I had the idea to try blending in the i230, but once I started gaming the blueprints, I decided against it. The blueprint has virtually no offset and a pretty small profile. Turf interaction and launch is quite a bit different as well. FWIW, while small heel-to-toe, the 4 and 5 bps have a “speed pocket” or whatever that does help w launch. So I just find I personally like maintaining the look at address, offset, and turf interaction (for now at least, ha) rather than maybe get a little extra forgiveness/higher launch. They are all same lofts though, so it should work in theory if you want to give it a shot. Going through tour player bags on ping site, I counted three different tour pros w at least 1 i230 and rest bps combo

Buddy just did this exact combo but at 8 iron down and is liking it so far, albeit only two rounds in. Even went S159 in 50.

I have the i230 (5-6) / Blueprint S (7-8 ) / Blueprint T (9-P). Its been brilliant so far. The i230s make for fantastic long irons and with the lengths/lofts being consistent there is no wild distance gap there.

 

Personally i do not see a huge difference visually, happy to take some pics tonight if anyone is interested.

I think it would be a great transition. I came from ZForged and zx7. You aren’t looking for distance, good you probably won’t get it. You want consistency…you will get that in bunches. These irons are so consistent and I find the ball goes the same distance on pure strikes and slight misses. Only major misses do I see a drop off. These go the distances I would expect from a forged iron. I’ve noticed no hot ones or jumpers and the 4 and 5 iron are awesome. Whatever the pocket is it works and they are very forgiving and easy to launch on a great trajectory. It would be worth you hitting them and seeing how they work for you
