Chrome Soft made it through the core cutting CRISIS and still kept the name and came out with Chrome Soft X LS.  I'd be very surprised if they went away from the name.

It was longer off the driver than any ball I’ve ever hit, but didn’t feel like a rock. Then off the irons and wedges it spun like Tour B XS. I’ve been trying to get more ever since then but to no avail.

 Man, wow. I need this ball.  This may be that one time I call the local rep.  He said  "just let me know if you need anything" 🤔

It almost sounds like the BX but maybe longer.  CSX is longer than BX by a few yards and firmer.  (tested in depth)

It’s essentially the CSX, but longer off the tee and more spin around the greens. I play Tour BX now, and it’s really good and almost the unicorn for me. But the CSX * goes a little further off the tee than the BX and spins more around the greens than the BX.

As good as Tour BX and CSX. I’m sure it’s not for most PGA Tour guys because they spin it too much already. But for low hdcp to scratch amateurs it’s great.

It’s what I play, and it’s very good. CSX is also very good, and I would play that, but to me I prefer the feel of the BX because it feels softer. Both are great balls. But the CSX * is longer than both off the tee, but has the increased spin off irons and around the green.

i agree, really wouldn't make sense. But, as someone pointed out Titleist flipped the V1 and X in 2017 and we're still trying to figure which one does what now...

I'll see the rep in two weeks and I'll be asking about this new ball first thing.  Callaway has managed to improve the CS over the years, so I'm pretty confident this new ball will be great.

Doubtful that the sales reps have heard about or seen any new 2024 product at this point.

From what I have heard, the Chromesoft ball will still exist and will be updated.  The new balls for the csx and the csxls will be called the Callaway Tour and the Callaway Tour LS.

 

Also, compressions for each will be similar to PV1 and PV1x with higher ball speeds...

 

We'll see.

I remain in the "I'll believe when I see it camp" regarding a name change. Sure those of us who participate in forums like these know that few (likely zero) pros play the standard Chrome Soft ball but keeping the standard Chrome Soft in the lineup and adding the word "Tour" to the other balls is basically saying to the entire golf world that the Chrome Soft isn't a tour ball and that seems like an odd decision to me.
