“Then the golf ball is identical. I think they just stamped a new logo on it." - Xander Schauffele. He may be referring specifically to the ball he is playing, but that's a pretty funny statement for a brand ambassador to say at a product release.

Pretty sure Xander was one of the players using the prototype that CT is based upon. Players at that level REALLY don't want their ball messed with when they find the right one.

Is the new Chrome Soft Callaway's AVX equivalent?  Don't see the words, "extremely forgiving", used to describe golf balls that often.  I assume it means that it wants to fly straight?

After reading the reviews and tests, I have a feeling the Chrome Soft X * balls I tested back in late summer is what has become the Chrome Tour X. I love the ‘22 Tour BX, but the only ball I’ve tested that was closest performance was the CS X* ball. I’ll be testing the ‘24 Tour BX and probably the CT X as well.

Yeah @hammergolf I'm super curious what you find on the course with the new balls.  We are both BX ballers, and for me Chrome Soft X was a close second.  This new CTX is a different beast.  Really like it, but leaning CT.

Tested CT and CTX again today.  Confirmed that CT has a lower flight, firm feel and very low spin.  CTX is just so so good off the irons and has a nice depth to it when struck well.  Sort of like it sticks to the face a smidge longer than CT.  CTX is $$$ around the greens.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to stick with CTX because of the iron control.  If it were a distance decision, I'd go CT.  It's longer off the tee.  Does anyone know which ball Chris Kirk was playing?

Be curious to see which pros are in which ball.   I need someone else to test these out and report bc I still feel Chrome Tour is the firmer of the two balls EVEN THO ITS LOWER COMPRESSION lol 🤣😂

He's grandfathered in because he signed a staff deal before they implemented the ball requirement at the start of last year.

My intuition was correct.  Much softer cover on Chrome Tour X yet firmer overall compression. Chrome Tour is X LS replacement, but softer.

Chrome Tour X is the ball to go with then for me. Couldn't stand the concrete feel of the X LS ball even if it performed well. Liked Chrome Soft X, so really looking forward to trying this ball out when I can finally get my hands on it up here in Ontario.

Pretty excited to try out the Chrome Tour. Sounds like a good fit. Higher flying, lower spin, 90ish compression. Right now I like BX and Maxfli Tour. Looking for something that lives between Pro V1 (flies to low) and Pro V1x (spin too much).

super interested in testing these out. I'm a ProV1 guy, V1x spins too much with wedges/low irons... and I've liked the CSX LS in the past but never gave it a legit test, always just gravitated back to the V1. Also like the Bridgestone B X, so curious how these shake out. If I'm correct, since the ProV1X spins too much, that would put me with the Chrome Tour over the Chrome Tour X?

So chrome Tour is a new model? or is this the CSX replacement>

And CTX is the LS replacement?

Callaway is so confusing with their branding

Besides Prov1, last years CSX was the only other ball that i loved to play.....if the new CTX feels like last years CSX but flies like the CSX LS, we may have a winner

Yes brand spankin' new.

Opposite.  Chrome Tour is X LS replacement and Chrome Tour X is CSX replacement.  CTX is a great great ball and CT is long, low spin beast

I agree, they haven't done a good job with this release.  Kind of lost in the shuffle.

besides prov1 left dot the CSX was my 2nd favorite ball...........so the Chrome Tour X will be the one i should try.....

callaway really messed up this release but at the end of the day we'll get used to the new naming convention and models.....its strange the remodeled the CSX LS and placed it where they did.....i wonder if they will produce yet another ball with 105 compression and put it at the top to compete with the Prov1 left dash

Talking with a former Cally staffer over the weekend who is now a free agent, he went through an extensive ball test and basically confirmed everything that has been billed. CTX is the CSX replacement and the Tour is the new product which spins a bit less, especially with wedges, which is exactly what he was looking for. He had always thought the CSX was head and shoulders above any ball he had played and said both the '24 balls are significantly better than the CSX.

Yeah totally.  CTX would fit nicely there.  CTX has a slightly softer feel off putter and wedge than CSX because of the softish cover.  Chrome Tour plays like CSX LS.  The cover is firm so it comes across as more clicky than CTX even though the compression is slightly lower.  Having tested side by side with Pro V1, CT is nothing like that ball IMO.  I think Chrome Tour is a really cool ball.  There is no ball like it.

I haven’t tried the CTX, but if it’s the same as the prototype CSX* I tested in the fall I agree as well. It was as long as anything I’ve ever hit, but spun more than anything inside 100yds. I’m a Tour BX lover, but this new ball could make me switch.

Here's a quote from an article I just read.  Thought you'd find it interesting...

"Chrome Tour is based on the Chrome Soft X Dot–a prototype Callaway made available to PGA Tour pros. Callaway’s Dot was softer and higher spinning than Chrome Soft X LS and accounted for 30 to 40 percent of Callaway’s play on Tour."

We are do for a shootout between 24 BX, CTX and maybe even CT.  I can't figure out that ball yet.  It's LONG and great in the wind for sure.

So I’m guessing the CSX dot became the CT and the CSX Star became the CTX.

Yeah, when it finally thaws out here in the spring I’ll be testing the ‘24 BX and CTX against my ‘22 BX. If either ball is better I’ll be thrilled because the ‘22 BX has been perfect for me.

So what are the differences in the CT and the prov1?  I’m basically looking for a higher launching Prov1 or a lower spinning Prov 1x, I guess closer to the left dash.

Should be similiar launch to the Pro V1 with lower spin that Pro V1x and from many player reviews, just goes long off driver.

Tour X  - like all other X balls mainly, higher spin

Tour - like Pro V1, lower spin, lower flight

pretty straight forward

not when you are used to the previous lineup. i just have to get rid of the previous models where it was CS, CSX and CSX LS......the LS is now the CT
