What is the Most Forgiving, Low Spin Driver for 2023

Try the Srixon ZX5 LS model. I tried Aeroject LS and found the Srixon more forgiving but still really low spin.

I actually have found the combo of Zx5 LS with a Velo black to be extremely stable. I feel like a lot of drivers are good out of either the heel or toe but this is good out of both.

That being said I actually thing Stealth +2 was also reqlitively low spin and pretty forgiving. I think the 100% titanium is what makes the ZX line so stable

Currently going back and forth to what headshape suits my eye better but paired w/ the right shaft and weights the Stealth 2 standard head you can hit it all over the face and the thing still flies.

In my experience hitting the 2023 drivers, the G430 LST is the most forgiving of the drivers marketed as “low spin”, however it’s not very low spinning compared to others. Also, I didn’t find the R2 much more forgiving than the R3, if at all. That probably sounds like I found them unforgiving. Quite the opposite, they were both more forgiving than expected, especially the R3.

I hear a lot of good things about the 430 LST. I wonder if you dialed it down to 7.5, that would reduce spin as well. I naturally play lower-lofted drivers-both my TSR3 and Aerojet LS play at 8 degrees.

I tried it turned down. I usually don’t see much of a difference in spin when adjusting drivers by the sleeve, I see more difference in the face angle, and the LST was no different. I guess it’s just the way I deliver it. The only time I see a difference in spin from loft is when the static loft changes on the head (ie I change heads from a 10.5 to 9). I wish they made the LST in an 8°. Had a G400 LST in an 8° many moons ago and that thing was awesome.

I will say that my experience with the LST was strictly indoors a few different times so I might have had better results on the course had I taken it out. I really wanted to like it. It just didn’t have the horsepower compared to some other drivers I tested.

Maybe you could order one from Ping that was digitally lofted a little lower.

Gone through a bunch, LTDX LS, Aerojet LS, TSR3, Paradym 💎💎💎, 430 LST.  For me, the TSR2 8 has been the clear winner.  Great looks, sound, feel, it’s hot, and ball speed/spin retention across the face is great.  This one will be in the bag for a while

G430 LST. I have owned a few drivers this year, Titleist TSR2 and Paradym triple diamond but the Ping beat them all and remains firmly planted in my bag.

Its been a bumper year for playable low spin drivers though

Same experience with the Ping vs the TSR3.  Have hit a friend's Paradym which I didn't like the feel of at all.  Love the Ping.

Well I know it's not the TSR3 or the Aerojet LS which I own, so what is it?

I'm guessing 8 degree TSR2 or the G430LS, but please, enlighten me. What about a G430 Max turned down to 7.5? Callaway Triple D?

I know what the marketing says but pretty much every review I've seen (TXG, Michael Newton as two examples off the dome) have the TSR2 spinning more than TSR3.

I think a better way to phrase this thread would be "Highest MOI, Low Spin Driver for 2023" - since in my opinion, spin is one of the biggest factors that makes a driver forgiving, or not.

TSR2 definitely qualifies here - very good MOI and it is as low spin as anything out there in my opinion..  I'm not a slow player (165BS) and the TSR2 at 9 degrees loft for me was too low spin to play.  I've actually never had that happen to me dating back all the way to my tour issue 8.5 M2 head days, cranked down to 7.5 loft that head was still playable.

I am intrigued by the Srixon ZX5 LS. How is the forgiveness in comparison to the Ping 430 LST or Max? Does it have any bias (straight, fade, or draw)?

Another vote for the Mizuno ST-G. I have the ST-Z and it is extremely forgiving across the face (by forgiving I assume you mean hit it all over the face and retain most of your ballspeed).

Can only compare vs Ping G425 but similar forgiveness (Ping is really forgiving), Srixon has a slight fade bias.

I used to game the SIM OG Max with Hzardus smoke stiff shaft as a mid-handicapper with high dispersion of the tee. It worked wonder and went down to single digit. But the thing when you improve fast is you think you’re gonna keep improving at this pace…Oh boy was I wrong and I learned my lesson. I changed my driver to the Callaway Epic Speed because I made the mistake of only looking at ball speed while grossly overrating my abilities. It cost me a year of really bad golf and loss of confidence because I simply didn’t have the forgiveness I needed.

So I decided to go back to a more forgiving driver but I wasn’t really willing to give up the speed on good shot which is the topic of this thread.

I loved the 425 LST but distance loss was too much and I didn’t love the feel of G430 LST. Then I found the TSR2 9° with Ventus Velocore Red X-Stiff and it was love at first sight. It’s the perfect combo of distance-feel-forgiveness for me.

I don’t know, maybe my numbers are higher than what the simulators say. I’ve always been able to hit the ball far outside as well.

I imagine clubs are optimized to how pros want them to play. Not necessarily the longest? 🤷🏽‍♂️
