how about:

50S for full shots

54H bent to 55 giving it 11 degrees of bounce (similar to vokey D grind)

58T bent to either 59 or 60 to give it more (7 or 8 ) bounce (along the lines of a vokey M grind)

That could work nicely I think!

I am definitely being drawn to the E though

I went with the 54 Eye2 and the 58 Eye2 in the midnight finish. I got excited over the dark finish.

I picked up a used Glide 3.0 58 Eye2 several years ago. Not only did my versatility around the greens improve my sand play improved a lot. I  picked up a Glide 3.0 54 Eye2 along the way and it worked out for me too. I never cared for the looks of the Eye2 but it outright performs for me and is very versatile IMO.

Do you play full shots with them too?

Tested these in Scottsdale last week at a Ping fitting at Kierland. They are great wedges. Was planning to get the new SM10's but I am definitely leaning towards the Ping's now as they come with a better stock shaft for me. 50S, 54S and 58H. The H was very versatile around the greens - I took it over to the short game area for a while after the fit to test it out. It is very similar to a M grind, but the grind seems slightly smoother than the M which helped me around the green when opening it up.

This coulda been posted by me.  I'm a 3-wedge Vokey player playing the "M" in my lob.  May be changing to the s159 this year.  Definitely will get the"H" in the PING lob.  "S" in the 50/54.

I find that in and around the green, the stock 115 modus is a spin generator

How did you guys find the S grind vs. the H grind in the sand wedge (54-56) options... This is a club that I will use on full shots, but also chipping, pitching and especially out of the bunkers when the pin isn't so tucked close.

Any thoughts and opinions that you could share on how these two compare out of those scenarios...

Thx!

The PING Z-Z115 Wedge is a Modus shaft?

That's interesting!

I know the Tour Black is a UST shaft, but didn't know who made the wedge shaft.

Well, not precisely. Ping ZZ115 is a shaft made by Nippon. Doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the Modus flavor.

Fair enough! Cool that it's a Nippon though, makes me more interested in going stock.

I might go KBS Tour though to match my irons, I don't particularly need the extra spin of a wedge shaft.

Well…I ordered 50, 54 H and 58 T after seeing them in person today and hitting about 50 shots with the demos. Great looking wedge and great feeling too. Very good feedback and a pure flush feel when struck on the right grooves.

Also I should add for those that love the Eye2 wedges….this is the closest iteration Ping has made as far as looks goes. The E grind looks very similar to the original, a bigger head, more pronounced scallop in the sole. Eye2 lovers will love this

I see a 52 S, 56 E, and a 60 T in my future. Just wish I could get all three in black.

@Flush-It-Fore I only tested full and partials with the 54 S. I don't use it around the green at all, so I didn't test that out. They did say the S grind is good in the bunkers through I did not confirm.

@PickItUpGolf @Arlin964 I play the Modus 115 wedge (122g) in my current wedges. The stock Z 115 felt a little lighter, but also a little stiffer in the mid section; kind of silmilar to the hi-rev 2.0. I liked it, and am leaning towards going with it, but it is definitely a different profile than the Modus wedge shafts. Modus 105 wedge (111g) always felt very loose to me and I lost ball speed. Modus 115 wedge feels tighter with a little kick which I like on feel shots. Hope that helps.

Yes I play full shots with my Glide 3.0 Eye2s. I hit them straight and have good distance control with them. The bounce works well for me and the design allows me to open the face and get very similar results. I have to say my sand game was below average. These wedges have me looking good out of the sand now. I like everything about them except the looks.

My new wedges will be here Tuesday and I am playing with my group on Wednesday (my Birthday). Fingers crossed they actually get here when they say they will.

Finally figured it out. Looks like only the S grinds will be stocked in black at most retailers, but the other grinds are custom orders. Can't wait to put them in the bag!

Bummed I can’t find an Eye sole in midnight.

I haven’t seen it mentioned but it’s cool these are $179 retail when Glide 4 was $199.

Didn't see them at too many retailers yet (Some are showing in the custom options like https://fairwayjockey.com/products/ping-s159-custom-wedge?variant=43126945218746) anywhere either, but my guess is more are coming (Or at least the option to order custom from a place like GG is coming). From https://ping.com/en-us/media/news/2024/s159-wedges

The s159 wedges are available in two performance-enhancing finishes in all 25 loft/grind combinations. Golfers can choose PING’s proven Hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish or Midnight, a new darker option that provides an attractive, anti-glare appearance.

I ordered my 54 and 58 Eye2 midnight finish wedges from Dicks on 2/13. I only saw Dicks and Carls offering them for custom in midnight on 2/13 when I did a search.

I ordered them longer, with a lie adjustment and MCC align midsize grips. I was notified by Dicks they would be delivered 2/15-2/17. I didn't think that was going to happen and it didn't. I received an email from Dicks on 2/21 with a tracking number and an expected delivery date of 2/17?

The tracking number  I received works and shows FedEx picked up my package in Phoenix, AZ on 2/21 and my delivery date has now been updated to 2/26 from 2/27.

There has not been any other wedge than a raw Vokey in my bag since 2013.

Tested the S159 today and trigger pulled on a chrome 54S - looks great, feels great and Quad was giving me over 8200rpm average on a 50m pitch.

We'll see how this goes and then the rest of the wedge set may follow.

With how often they need changing and the performance of Hydropearl, I can't justify paying for raw anymore either.
