Maybe a question that doesn’t have an answer, but does anyone know which grind would be closest to the Vokey V grind? Thanks!

It would probably be the H Grind but not really though. Just get a V Grind if you want a V Grind.

Thanks! I figured there may not be a 1:1. Just curious if there was something close that I could play around with.

I’ve actually seen posted in WRX threads that the Ping T sole is almost 1:1 to Vokey V grind, despite different published effective bounces. Never had a V, so can’t actually comment on this myself. I just bought a T sole after having E (Eye 2) and I’ve yet to hit the T fat a single time. Maybe heavy on occasion, but no chili dips. Worth a shot IMO.

100% agree. The PING grinds are always pretty friendly even if they're listed at only 6 bounce. The only PING wedge I've had that would really dig was one that had a bunch of custom WRX grinding on it.

 

The stock PING T-grind has a very obvious "dual sole" or "V-grind" type design, and that front sole on it has probably 20 degrees of bounce.

Just picked up ANOTHER mint 58° Glide 2.0 ES off of eBay - that’s three backups - but I’ll definitely be checking out the 46, 50, and 54.

Just saw them at my local Roger Dunn and the h was more like the vokey d grind.  As others have mentioned t grind would be closest to the v.

I have ordered both the H and B grinds. I’ll report back with my thoughts whenever I get them. Guessing that will be towards the end of the month or at least on or after the 22nd (release date - I think). Unfortunately, it will be based off hitting from mats into a simulator, for now.

If it’s the same coating as the black glide 4 tour issue then I believe the answer is no.

So far the consensus is that the black finish wedges do not have hydropearl. I keep hanging on for the affirmative straight from the horse’s mouth so to speak, but it’s unlikely.

This is posted on the Golf Galaxy site.. I take it as two different finishes.

I am wondering why midnight is only offered +/- two degrees from standard? I play my Glide 3.0 wedges at +3. I wanted to get the midnight finish. Is +2 going to make that much difference from +3?..

My OCD is kicking in.

Yeah I saw that and it gave me some hope that the Midnight finish would have the same hydrophobic properties, but I'm afraid the "performance-enhancing" will be no glare.

I'm pretty set on which wedges to order, but i would love to get peoples opinion on the matter.

 

Currently interested in ordering:

 

1. Ping S159 50 degree S grind (GW)

 

2. Ping S159 55 degree (54 or 56 bent to 55) (SW) ----> Dont know which grind to go with, either H or S grind

• H 54 bent to 55 (would have effective bounce of 11)
• S 54 bent to 55 (would have effective bounce of 13)

3. Ping S159 60 degree H grind (LW)

 

Open to other combinations as well though

Playing in the PNW and in the mornings may need to really invest in these. I can get chunky with my 58. Might need to go E in the 54 and  H or S in a 58. Maybe even a W.

Whoa -- Carl's Golfland is showing Fujikura Axioms as an upcharge shaft option in these. That's gonna make these a must-buy for me. I've been thinking about putting Axioms in my wedges too since the @Fujikura Golf GolfWRX Members' Experience.

 

It's a really phenomenal wedge shaft lineup overall. Pretty much everything anybody could want is on there.

They do look really sleek and great behind the ball.  I don't love the black contrast on the back of the chrome wish it was a silver or chrome color, but will likely still go with them to get the hydropearl finish.
