Hard to see you being disappointed. I'm addicted lol. 

 

I'm wondering if we will see more lob wedges in the Ping tour bags now they have taken on tour feedback and nailed it (IMO). I got by quite ok with their Glide 2.0 lob wedges but these are a big step up. What i love is these wedges in the grinds i got are still very user friendly.

Does anyone know if the midnight finish has similar hydrophobic properties as the chrome hydropearl? I like the black look but if the chrome perform better in the wet then i’ll go with those… thanks

I think I did read somewhere that the black is going to spin a few hundred rpm less than the chrome, not sure under what conditions that is, I think it was on full shots. Not a big deal.

I was fitted by Ping at a course in Scottsdale and was told that the black has the hydrophobic finish same as the chrome.

If that's the case, you know it won't be long before the I530 comes out in the Black finish.

My 54S and 58S should be delivered today!  Went with Modus 125 Wedge shafts in them to pair with my new fitted Modus 115 S shafts in the i230s.  While at the fitting we decided 2 upright on the irons works and 1 flat on the wedges is good.  After 1 round with the newly bent irons, I think I may have to send them back to get reverted to standard lie angles.

 

I can handle 2 upright in my longer irons, but 2 upright in my 9 and PW is not a recipe for straight shots.  Big Draw City is not what I want from 120-150 yards.

 

I have the UW in my i230 set, and especially with that bent upright, I'm not really getting along with it.  I ended up ordering a 50 degree S159 in the midnight finish with some of the custom laser engravings.  I figure that's a good one to test in midnight since I won't hit as much from bunkers and the junk so we'll see how the finish holds up.

I've seen numerous articles citing the opposite. It wouldn't be the first time staff have got it wrong.

I'm assuming you mean hydropearl. Whoever told you that is likely mistaken.

Funny I was told the opposite. The black does not have the hydropearl finish and spins around 200 rpm less than the chrome with hydropearl finish when wet.

Picked up 54 W and 58 B and played them right away. Fantastic wedges. The grinds are spot on and set up nicely without feeling chunky. 
 

It’s soft and muddy more often than not for me. I played 4 holes in rain today and their spin performed better than expected.

I played my first round with my new 62T yesterday and had my best ever SG short game round while using Arccos.

 

The highest loft Ive used before is 60 and I was extremely surprised by how much of a difference the extra 2 degrees makes.

 

I bought it for short-sided chips/pitches and this thing lands softly and then chews hard.

i've played Gilde 3 50s, 54s and Gllide 1 58ts (didn't like the grind that much. use the club maybe once every 2 rounds) the last couple of seasons. Yesterday i've tested the s159 56s and that club was really great. bunker, chipping and pitching. this club can do it all.
but where do i go from here? should i change my set-up to 52, 56, 60? stay with 50, 54, 58? 
fyi. is use the 50s for full shots, half swing, pitching and chipping (digger). the 54s for half swing, everything around the green and 95% of bunker shots. the 58ts for tight lies and tucked pins.

Don't change because you demo'd a specific wedge. Stick to your setup!

Picked up 54s and 58h and I've been having fun with practicing with them from home. I'm looking forward to when I can finally play. The 58H, I'm hitting some saucy 24 yard pitch with this club, so easy to launch it high in the air.

They can be adjusted at the factory from what I've heard.

Is the H grind similar to the ATV grind?  I hate that TM got rid of the ATV grind.  It’s my favorite of all time.

ATV was special because of the carved out piece, so if any, the Eye-sole might play similar.

H grind is more similar to a V- or D-grind (to speak in Vokey-terms)
