I gotta say that one of the most annoying things on this course is the number of holes where it almost doesn't matter where you hit the ball; they end up in the same place regardless. 

 

Made especially egregious because of the number of shots where you can hit it right into the middle of the fairway, and they all end up collecting in the rough. 

 

Seems like all you can do is hit the ball and hope you get lucky with your lie not being in the middle of a divot (because the rest of the field is all hitting from the same place) or a terrible lie (because everything feeds into the rough) or a terrible lie in a divot in the rough (because 1+1=2).

this courses fairway slopes arent made for the length of the grass and the firmness the pga tour sets them to.

at the start of the round with the split tees and lack of wind early i thought we would see a dozen or so players at -20 by the end of the day. but with this wind we'll be lucky to see 5 players get to that mark.

am not surprised Hovland is contending, nor the fact that Hideki ain't contending...  however, for a birdie-fest, Ben An is in there?  Hmmm...  (I'm neutral about him btw, he seems to be a good guy, at least from Twitter-land impressions.  But the "cough syrup fiasco" is certainly an error in judgement as well as the "cheating" accusations in the past)

Ironically, baggy pants are back in with the Gen Z crowd. I see it all over that age group, guys and girls, including my 17 year old nephew.

It's all over the place I guess. See a lot of guys in "registration fits", i.e., those shorts & khakis a lot of scrambles seem to put the 20-something ladies in that I'm pretty sure actually violate HR standards 👀 Guess that became a thing when guys started wearing tights alongside the girls. I dunno. 

 

I just keep it classic. Maybe Mr Day's people know something we don't, but even the "in" YouTubers don't really tend towards what I've seen him in all this week. Looks closer to rain gear than standard fairway fare to me. 

 

On another note, enjoying the play so far. Might have to head out that way later this year. Looks like a good time.

I don't believe I have those "great powers" at my disposal.  Maybe it only works for "Vik" (which I had no clue of) but I certainly had a ton of these chances (to jinx) especially following the LPGA players on the other thread and nothing really happened.  🤪

mostly wedges and pitches but some irons into the wind were also pretty good.

however over 100 drives have surpassed the 400yrds mark through 3 rounds due to certain holes.

Kisner is fine but it’s awkward how the rest of the crew is treating him. We’re watching a guy interview for a job live on television. They keep putting words in his mouth which seems like a poor way to integrate him. I think they’re making it impossible for him to do his best at this.

This has to be the most boring tournament of the year. I watched for about 15 minutes and tuned it out.  I've played there a few times over the years and it's O.K. due to the scenery but on TV the scenery and the slopes don't really come across.

This. The whole meta lets talk about his first day is awful. Imagine if that happened in your own line of 9 to 5.
