Harrington has said because he is able to grind from anywhere, he is able to take the risk of being really aggressive off the tee and still be able to score.

 

Shorter hitters chasing distance who have always been hitting their 2nd shots from the fairway will struggle immensely when they are hitting from the rough even if they are 10-15 yards longer.

If it dries out much more, balls will blow off the greens with the high winds.  Gonna be playing Texas windage on putts too.  lol

Impossible to get a course in perfect shape for every single contingency every single day. If it's too baked out the wind can make it unfair and you could lose the greens. If it's too soft and the wind doesn't blow there's no way to dry them out quickly enough. If the rough's too thick and too many other things are already penal it turns into a U.S. Open.

 

Rather see it play a little easier part of the week than be a bloodbath the whole time just for the sake of it.

100% agree. Luck of the draw is a part of tournament golf. In the final analysis, everyone plays the same course and the lowest score of the week wins. That works for every tournament.

tony has made almost 100ft of putts on his back 9 and he still has 2 holes to go yesterday he made almost half that for the entire round
