I enjoyed this. Who says it can’t be exciting with new players in the field. It was close. Real close. I do miss some of the “super stars”, but this was a close tourney with numerous story lines.
Still can’t believe Scheffler missed that putt.  NBC didn’t have time to analyze with Faxon as the camera switched to Jeager and the post round. Would’ve loved to hear Faxon on that putt.

Cool to see guys like Knapp, Malnati, and Jaeger win.  It's life changing for them.   Scotty needed to ram that putt to back of cup instead of lagging it.  What in the world was that stroke???????  Tiger, Rahm, Seve, Jack, etc rams it center cut to buck of cup.  Scotty's putt barely lollygagged to cup high!!!!!  The greats don't miss putts like that ftw.  That was a WRX 4 stroke when everything was on the line.

Happy for Stephen Jaeger to get his 1st PGA Tour win.

He has done is hard yards by grinding successfully on the KFT with 6 wins.

I assume he is the 4th 🇩🇪 to win on the PGA Tour? Langer, Kaymer and Cejka.

Really, who did you miss? The talking heads on TV keep talking about the game being fractured yet we had a perfectly great tournament without Rory, Jt, Spieth, Morikawa, Harman, Woods, Hovland, Cantley, Schaufele, Aberg, Young, etc.....and that's just the PGAT.

The big-name players never played together much in the past and the tournaments will be just fine with a sprinkling of talent with no problem. It's all about the drama and excitement hype, not the players ......I miss no one that doesn't want to play.

~The new narrative is that the PGAT needs the villains, which is total nonsense as well.

**Just my opinion of course.

To me the best tournaments are when there are multiple guys who’ve never won fighting it out on Sunday.

Dude seems to have a reputation. Although if he starts barking at fellow pros to pick up the pace, I may become a fan.

They interviewed his HC from Florida on GC earlier and echoed some of these points and that he needs to improve his etiquette .. don't think he will perform those shenanigans on TV on the big tour (?) He didn't exactly grow up privileged like 9/10 guys on tour. Doesn't excuse the behavior but can explain why he's not as refined.

The thing w the caddie irked me me the most, but still more likeable than Kuchar for me!

The incident with Finau did not perturb me either seems like he was just sticking up for himself maybe?

He sure is fun to watch regardless of all the shenanigans, hope he matures a bit now that he's a recognizable name.

Id like to see him mess with Cantlay next 😂😂

Caddied for Jaeger in a then Web, now KFT event in KC in 2014. His game is almost identical now as it was a decade ago.

It seems like Jaeger has improved his distance and mental game.

Jaeger’s career evolution is part physical – he has been diligent in speed training, ranking No. 24 this season in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee (he ranked No. 184 in 2022). It allows him to attack longer holes with more freedom and safeguard against disaster on certain shots like the par-4 17th Sunday – which played 329 yards from the forward tee, water down the entire right side. He hit a “spinny heeler” off the tee that easily cleared the hazard, leading to an easy par (his eighth of nine straight closing pars on a windy Sunday).

His evolution is also very much mental. A previous version of Jaeger, who twice lost his TOUR card before earning 2021 Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year honors and not looking back, was too quick to take a bad round home with him. Struggles would compound into missed cuts, and he found himself in mini-ruts that were difficult to escape.

“If he had bad rounds, he was just so down, so down,” Shelby Jaeger said Sunday. “I call it a golf hangover, and he would have those.”

Love this. I need to get after some speed training. Need to get to the gym. I want to be able to compete into my mid-60's and there's no way I can do it without getting my body in shape.

I would agree with the mental game. He MC trunk slammed the week I caddied for him and thought he was going to break every club in his bag.

I don't think you're going to run into many from South America who make it to the KF/PGA without some level of above average circumstances. They don't have the national or local pathways Europe, Asia, and North America do, nor do they exactly have abundant access to play or practice facilities of any kind.

If I'm wrong I'm wrong. So far I've seen nothing to indicate he's a kid from a hard life who ground his way up. Honestly if he were I doubt he'd be such an unmitigated %&*>/@$ to fellow players as he'd appreciate how amazing it is to go from barely getting by to having the kind of living the Tour affords. Most from a hard life have the good sense to make their continued path forward a smooth one, and getting yourself kicked out of events ain't that.
