Just picked this bad boy up! $30 from GS. Off the deck is longer than my RFE 3W off the tee the RFE is a tad longer but i mainly use a fairway off the fairway. My RFE driver is pratically point-and shoot.
I love the way this thing works off the ground.

Man, I wish they had made that 4w in LH. Us southpaws are always getting the shaft, but I have a couple of 3 woods and a 5 wood.

As to the question above about shafts, plenty of pricey options mentioned in this thread already. If you want great shafts without breaking the bank, the XCaliber shafts from golfworks are terrific. At your swing speed, the basic fw shaft in R flex could work nicely, but amongst the basic fw shaft, SL fw shaft, and Tour fw shaft, there's likely something that would work for you.

I went with steel (TT DG S300) in mine, and couldn't be happier. The best $17.95 I've ever spent in golf.

I have a 4 wood v steel with an attas 6s in it. It's a cannon. I also have a 7 with the mas stock shaft which replaced my 3 iron. These are awesome sticks. I'm thinking of picking up a 9 too, they are that good.

I've been playing V Steels for a long time. I have a collection of two 3 woods, a 5 wood, and a 4 wood. All of my V steels have the stock steel DG stiff shaft. I had a Ping G15 briefly, but the V steel was longer and more consistent, so it didn't last long.

Sorry If I am bringing this topic back to life but I was wondering, what do y'all think about the V-Steel compared to the more current 3 woods? As, All three woods nowadays are meant to just go really far, I want a 3 wood to fit a gap, and go 25-35 yards shorter then my driver, not 10. And since I am on a budget, it seems like the V-Steel is someone everyone still loves.

This year I picked up an 18* 5W, paintfilled the sole red/white/blue, and threw a real deal Diamana Kai'li 80 stiff in it. Tipped it up 1 1/4" and stuck on some lead tape. Keeping it old school! I'll milk this club till the very end.

Well, there are 249 posts before yours extolling the virtues of a several year old club. I'd say that speaks volumes. These are 'that good', and at like $20 apiece, an absolute steal.

I am seriously considering putting the 5 wood back in the bag--has an Aldila DVS 75g shaft in it I think.

I recently picked up a 15 degree with the stock graphite shaft in regular flex. I only can get low missiles with this combo. Not sure it's the club, shaft or just my sh*tty swing. Any one else experience this as well? Any recommended shafts to get flight up? In my tm 1.0 tp driver, I have no problem elevating the ozik hd6 shaft. However, I don't want to spend too much coin on a new shaft.

No worries mate, I'm sure there's plenty of other shafts that will do the job, but the nvs comes in .350 tip, so you won't need to shim.
If you search 'nvs .350' on eBay, there's a whole stack in different weights and flexes for about 55 bones.

I want to know how that GD AD DI 7x shaft in the 15* v-steel turned out damnit...I really want to to know! I'm thinking of reshafting my 18* (currently has the Graffaloy prolite 35s)...not that I really need to as I hit this thing wonderfully...but I still want to.

I have played a tour issue v steel 15* with a Diamana Blueboard 83 for about 6 years now and it has been an incredible club.

However, it has taken a bit of a beating over the past few years and all of the new toys available in the fairway wood department have my eye wandering a bit. The most tempting affair would probably take place with an XHot Pro 17*, which i assume would probably go about as far as my baby (15* v steel), only with a higher ball flight.

Am I crazy for even considering this? Has anyone hit their V Steel up against any of the new stuff such as XHot Pro, RBZ Stage 2 of G25???

I almost feel dirty even considering leaving my faithful weapon.

I picked up a 7 wood today at play it again sports in nice shape with steel shaft for 15.00. Not really sure why i bought it but you guys know how that goes. Not sure what shaft would be good or if keeping the steel might be a good choice.....Any suggestions?

I just got a 5 to match my 3 with factory stiff graphite. $9.99 (plus shipping). Now I finally have a couple matching woods, but I fear I'll put the 5 out as far as the 3 like I usually do with all my 3 and 5 woods.

Almost this, I'm probably about 10-15 yards behind the driver with mine but the more I hit the thing the more my confidence soars with it. I'm finding more and more that I go straight for the 3 instead of the driver unless it's a par 5. I hit it so well with the crappy stock shaft that I've even stopped thinking I need to put another shaft in it.

What shafts and shaft flexes and what lofts? I've been debating between my 15* and changing to a 13* (T/S) for some time now. In Minnesota not nearly enough time year 'round to try to tweak these things on a course/range.
