Your choice of balls?

Pro v1 still the best ball out there?

Depends on who you ask. The question is more subjective than it is objective. Sure, a lot of folks on Tour use the ProV, but they get paid to. They could probably play a Bridgestone or TM for example, and do just fine with it.

I play the Pro V because Titleist sells them directly for about $36 a dozen during Christmas time sale. Yes, I would and could play other brands, but at the price it is hard to beat the value.

I play Srixon Z star V. Soft feeling and durability and spin control are the pros.

And $10 less expensive than proV1.

Srixon Z Star yellow. Went back to it last year and don't see myself changing again. Just bought three dozen for the price of two during their current sale. Have plenty for this year.

Quality wise, yes it's still top of the game. As far as performance... Many other bands perform just as well if that's what fits your swing.

I find my bridgestone balls feel just as good and spin the amount I want but for less money. To me, that's the best.

TM TP5 for me

I never play well with ProV1. Maybe it's in my head. But I play better with Tour Bx, TourB Rx, TP5x and ZStar.

Take my last few Nike Tour Platinum RZNs / Blacks out of the equations and it's BXS or TP5 for me. Awesome balls.

well, it depends what handicap the person is that you ask. Pro v1 is a great ball if you can utilize the characteristics. I play the BRX at a 18 handi cap, need the lower spin on all shots

currently trying out Snell and Z Star. My regular ball is Q star. Like a good ball but need to be financially responsible. Got the Z Stars on bogo a while back - only way I'd buy them.

If the round really matters I'll use the ProV1... otherwise I play the K-Sig, Snell, & Vice

No question my numbers are the best with the ZStar XV. I loved the B330, too, but ZStar XV has provided the most consistent results. M y Golf Sp y has a really good article about golf ball testing and how you should not just go for "feel" and rather get numbers from you golf ball. That's why I've gravitated away from softer tour models to the XV (or ProV1x, B330 or TP5x). The Zstar XV i can get for around $27/box during sales, so there is no reason not to play it since performance is better and cost is WAY better.

I play the vice pro plus. I think it’s pretty comparable to Prov1x and other competitors.

Just tried the new 2020 B'stone RX ball....the reactiv cover did as advertised for me ; spin when needed and when not.....I'm not a high speed guy but I like softer balls despite needing distance.....the RX was built for me

Could be, but a few years ago I strayed. Played Titleist balls since 1995 when I started being able to keep my tee ball in sight. About 5 years ago I started trying other premium balls. TP5X is my go to now and I normally have a dozen MTB Blacks in my bag also.

Waiting to try 2020 CSX, as it's been winter, I'm playing Vice Pro (basically a ProV1) and liking the TM Project a for less than $30 a dozen. I'm not too picky about which ball. Urethane cover, decent feel and controllable in wind are what I look for.

Changed from Pro V1 (2017) to Pro V1x (2019) towards the fall of last season. Found it a bit more consistent and a bit of added spin on my mid irons. Worked well for me even in windy conditions. :-)

There are many great balls out there. I need to get a dozen MTBs for the next purchase. I love the MTB-X, Z Star, Z Star XV. Q Star Tour is a neat ball, too. I have a bit of a mental block with price tags over $40. In that price range I've always enjoyed playing the TP5x.

All the current tour level balls are solid. Like others have said. Start from the green and work back. I actually start with the putter. Currently playing Srixon Z Star XV. The price is right and it preforms in the wind. Snell MTB-X is also a great choice. I just prefer the durability of the XV.

Of current crop.

V1 great. V1 x spins too much. AVX errrrr no.

TM TP5 great but shocking durability. TP5X too hard.

Snell. Both great.

Z Star. Great. XV too clicky. Q-Star Tour. Also great.

Chrome Soft. Pass. Awful.

Bridgestone. XS spins to much but RXS is superb.

Vice. Ok if you want three year old tech and less distance.

Honma TW1X. Surprisingly good ball with strong flight.

My home course is littered with hazards and I find a lot of golf balls (don't take any out of the water though), so I play a variety of different balls. My favorite is the ProV1x as it responds the best around the greens for me. Fortunately I find a lot of those. I haven't paid for golf balls in years.

I used Vice Pro Plus until I discovered the Callaway Chrome Soft X Triple Track and its easy putting alignment system. I know the CSX has had quality issues, but I've yet to experience them with the 2018 and 2019 versions.

I switched from the Pro V1x to the TP5. I liked the feel better(which is subjective) and it seems like it plays better in the wind.
