Scotty’s Circa 62 in yellow came out in 2006.

Toulon became a stand alone company in 2015 and started race car inspired cover shortly there after.

Bottom line; they all are great putter makers and share a love for race cars and racing.

Would love to hear Sean Toulon expand on this tweet. He definitely makes it seem like he has a war chest of complaints about Cameron copying designs.

As a Don myself it angers me that Cameron won’t go by his given name “Don†unforgivable lol

It can be tough with names. True story - I know a family full of lawyers here in Oz; surname Farkas. They called a daughter Carmen. :-)

Good on Sean for calling him out, that crap is weak.

Toulon is on a roll and will continue to take his business.

This is about a cut and paste copy of a cover, not another discussion on the "Anser putter"

Cameron has really fallen off on his OTR models. Used to have a look aboutbthem that made a statement. Now they look cheap and mass manufacturing. Yes the old ones were mass produced but they didn’t have that look about them. Have had a few Toulon putters and they are everything Cameron used to be

I don’t know much about Toulon

They look very nice

Is there an original design in there somewhere I don’t see?

I see pings, some that remindof nice Japanese models from a few years ago, a blade

Tough to call out when much of the putters look like beautiful copies themselves ?

Nothing is too original these days - what is old is new again. A few things have interesting takes - Ping tends to push the envelope in putter design; you see different takes on the Anser - deeper flange, wings, etc. Different designs? Examples like Directed Force, the Evnroll ER7 (the improved Rife Barbados) is a slight modification, the ER-9 is different but to be discontinued.

Toulon's putters are not pioneering but his forte' seems to be using a variety of weighted heads and counterbalancing - you've got 3 options for weighting for each putter. Odyssey/Toulon are coming out with a new shaft. Toulon- Nice putters - just must find what fits your game.

Debatable !

Not a Registered Trade Mark, not on the Pattern Right .......... It's a design which other used / copied.

Of course the original owner would not be pleased especially when someone else has more success with it.

Does he have more success with it!?! His Headcover market has tanked and his putters aren’t holding their value like they used to.

That is such a weak use for 62 ... it says, "It's all about me." Gag ...

I was kind of interested in trying a Toulon next year but might have to pass now. Gotta wonder about a guy who would call this out when at the heart of his company he's copying the OG, Mr. Karsten Solheim. And maybe to some extent Mills and Bettinardi when you throw in milling/one-piece milling. I guess some people will bite though.

Kind of why I have such respect for a guy like Guerin Rife, watched a recent interview about his work and he says outright, we don't take to much risk in the design, we use historically successful designs and then incorporate our knowledge/technology into those ideas, i.e., we are taking something good and trying to make it better.

Agree with others I've read regarding Cameron. Gotta respect what Scotty has brought to the game, however, his retail releases have not been good for a while. I've hit the 2018 select line over and over because I want to like/get one but, it usually comes in 3rd or 4th behind Bettinardi, EVNROLL, Vault 2.0 in my testing.

Lol people really thought it meant the company was from 1962?? That’s the funniest thing I’ll hear all day

Surprised this doesn't happen more often. The difference between all clubs- not just putters- is razor thin from one manufacturer to another.

I think people are getting confused about what he's claiming as copied. He's not referring to the putters but the headcover design and the special edition nature of the release using the exact same ideas and color scheme.

Scotty could have done something with the Shelby Cobra blue\white stripes or Jaguar British Racing Green but he chose the identical shell racing colors and identical headcover design down to the way it is laid out and everything. I'm not saying there's a copyright or anything but it's just lazy on Scotty's part and unoriginal.

Not defending Scotty (or anyone else) but especially in putters, everyone copies everyone else. Yes there are a few examples of a groundbreaking design (like when the 2 ball came out) but for the most part, everyone is just tweaking everyone else’s ideas and around and around we go.

Even the 2 ball was "inspired" by Dave Pelz 3 ball putter.
