There are rumors that Justine tells Patrick what equipment to play as well.

I've never understood the hate for Leadbetter from many here. I really haven't. From what I've read/watched of him he seems like a very knowledgeable golf mind who has spent the better part of his adult life teaching others a very tough game, and he has a great deal of respect from his peers and colleagues.

Much was made about the situation with him and Lydia Ko, and how Lydia dumping him was finally going to unleash her career...I believe she's won 1 time in the 2+ years since, after basically dominating that tour while Leadbetter was her coach.

Hate is a strong word. The reason for the negative responses toward him is that he appears to be the last stop on the way to obscurity for most good players. He has a history of taking great, accomplished players and then changing their swings to fit some "model" that he has in mind.

There is only one boss in that Team and it is not Patrick of that there is surely no doubt.

I can see that, she gets an offer that she thinks is insulting and moves on. She seems to the the type to cut her nose to spite her face.

I'm sure he would agree but probably doesn’t think he has that swing anymore.

Justine would be even more proud.

Guys, lets drop this thought before someone in Team Reed catches on. I still can't get those Tom Kite workout pics out of my head.

Have you not see The "A" swing yet?

Walter: Tell me Bobby, why do you play this game?
Bobby: I play because I love it.
Walter: Well I play for the money. I have to win. That is why every time we face each other I will always beat you.

Okay, Leadbetter says he wasn't aware that Reeds current coach is remaining with him. I guess I think differently but if I'm a swing coach and someone calls me about working them, the first question I'm asking is what is your status with your current swing coach. And my ethical sense says I would decline the offer. But that's just me.

Back in the mid 90's I worked at a golf course in SC and the Hooters tour had an event at our course. I remember some players talking on the range - one guy says he went to see Leadbetter and the other guy says to him something to the effect of - oh, you went and got a case of lead poisoning. Still makes me laugh.

My first question would have been, "Ok Justine, is Patrick ok with this? I'd like to chat with him when he finishes the round before I commit."

I believe Ko was dominating prior to joining Leadbetter.

Not only would she set you straight as to who's running the show, you'd probably get Pat in big trouble and you'd be off the list. Then she'd call the PGA Tour, the USGA and the R&A asking them to do something about you. As well as any of your sponsors.

With the benefit of hindsight, I'd say Sir Nick worked well for Leadbetter.

Working with them or, as the story stated, just wanted an experienced pair of eyes to take a look and DL was available locally? If a major PGA pro asked you to take a look at their swing you would demand a copy of a contract with another teacher? IS teaching golf that much like marriage that a player should not seek other opinions?
