What putter did you just buy ?

Finally got this Goodwood Senna out on the green today, picked up from another WRX member. It needed a little work done to get it up and running (reshaft), added a TGM roo leather grip. Bullet sole, chocolate brown finish, getting a nice patina.

Bettinardi Inovai 6.0 Putter w/BGT Stability Tour Polar Shaft 32”

Wanted to have shoot out between my Lajosi and new to me Betti as I'm curious as to what all the hype is with the BGT Stability Tour Polar shafts is. I got such a sweet deal that I just couldn't resist. I know that Bettinardi makes great putters and I had the Armageddon BB 56 Putter which I sold and wished I still had it. I always seem to do better with the mid style mallet/mallet type putters over blade ones. Plus 1st time using a fat Superstoke grip so will be pretty interesting. Pictures to come later

Obligatory most recent putter purchase was a Ping PLD DS72 but I just want to pass along some advice/reminder to compare to your current gamer when possible.

 

I'm a standard WRX club junkie and have too many of everything but especially putters. I've been gaming a 2 Ball Ten Double Bend for the last year and while mallets are not my "preferred" headshape, I just can't knock it out of the bag.

 

I was at GG a few weeks ago and tested the following putters as I have been window shopping them for a while. Tri-Hot 5K #2 (My preferred headshape and really want to add this one to the Anser 2 style collection), Betti Inovai 8.0 spud neck, Oddysey Eleven Double bend.

 

The Eleven was the best form me that day and I told myself it's a definite buy at the right price or when it gets added to Callaway Preowned. I was a GG last week and decided to give it a side by side with the Odyssey Ten double bend (my current gamer) and I preferred the Ten over the Eleven.

 

Moral of the story is to include your current gamer if possible when comparing new putters.

He is I message him from time to time on Instagram asking about certain grips when he shows them off and always get an update of if/when they'll offer them, etc. Pretty much the only putter grips I play now.

Well finally decided I putt best with a center shaft and some alignment other than a single line. I had the tri-hot 5k triple wide and loved the roll of it. Maybe I’ll get lucky and odyssey will do a Japanese center shaft release with 3 lines. Until then here is the new gamer and a new headcover to go along with it. I remember going into Golf Galaxy and wearing out the practice green when these came out, so I am very excited to pull the trigger 16 years later haha. I am also trying out the Garsen Ultimate, I had been using the Max but wanted something a little smaller.

The crazy thing is right now Im looking for an oil can in great shape, so I can game the crap out of it and let it get nice and crusty.  Not something I've ever done, but just have a hankering to try that now.

Sounds like fun.  Good luck as they’re not easy to find.  Would love to see production of modern oil cans.  Not likely tho 😂

I've been on this website for a number of years and I FINALLY got to check off a "typical Wrx poster" box: buying a second copy of a putter I already had for no particular reason.

 

I've been putting phenomenally (for me) with the Odyssey White Hot OG 1WS with the regular steel shaft. Not being able to leave well enough alone, I decided that I needed to try out the Stroke Lab version of the same putter. And I needed to replicate the grip (Pro Only Red Star cord). Now I get to have a putt-off between two nearly identical putters.

 

It is wild how different the putters feel. I don't know how real the Stroke Lab "tech" is, but the difference in swingweight is immediately apparent. Both putters weigh 542 grams on the nose, but the SL version has a SW of D0is versus the D6ish of the non-SL version.
