loving my 73x tour in my 5 deep so much I got a 63x tour Fubuki coming in from the bay for the 3 deep to match

Are these still popular with any other players out there??

I know Phil is still a fan

They work for my swing. May tackle the 7w next except the Whiteboard 83 is pretty solid in there at the moment

Side note: I've never tried the alpha or the J versions

Maybe it's because i need help elevating fwy's?? To me they kick but still produce high straight shots. I took a 5w over 35 foot pines on my last trip ... OFF THE DECK.. that shot not normally in my wheelhouse

The 73x was in my 910 driver originally and it was great in there as well

Phil is the only one on Tour still using it. Most of the guys have moved over to Tensei Pro and Kuro Kage XT, with some still using versions of Diamana as well.

Only one on tour? Seriously? Please elaborate

I often get confused on how each shaft line plays into the lineup at Mitsubishi Rayon. It seems like they have so many lines of overlapping product and keep reinventing the same profiles over and over. There were what, 4 different Fubuki shafts, multiple "generations" of the Diamana line and then multiple version of the Kuro Kage. They also had the Bassara line which also followed the same bend profiles as the Diamana line. I originally thought the Kuro Kage was supposed to be a slightly cheaper version of the Diamana line but now they cost just as much.

Phil still plays the Fubuki (J series I think?) but no other major players have it in the bag. I'm not sure what more there is to elaborate...

Correct. Right out of the mouth of Mitsu themselves, no top 100 player uses the shaft with the exception of Phil.

My apologies. I interpreted only player on tour to mean only player on the tour. Not top 100. SY Noh and Morgan Hoffmann are certainly on the tour, but maybe not in the well defined top 100

I love Fubukis. I have a K 60x in my LTD Pro currently. I liked the K 70x in my old ping g25. I also liked the alpha 60x in my old fast 12LS. I like the K the best. For some reason, they just fit my swing well. I think it may be partly mental. When I see the throwing star graphics, I feel like a golf ninja and feel very powerful...

I originally bought the SLDR off eBay a few years ago with a Fubuki Alpha 70X by mistake (thought it was an S instead of X). I've tried GD BB7s, UST Elements Chrome, and several flavors of Speeder Tour Specs, but none deliver on the distance/dispersion as the Alpha. I have been tempted to try a J or Tour, but why?

Oh yes, they are still all the rage for me, my Fubuki collection goes like this:

1.Callaway FTiz 9,5 tour I-mix/ Fubuki tour 63x. This combo is my high straight flying, low spinning bomber, I got it in 2011 & have had longest drives on numourous occasions. Feel wise, it is incredible & somewhat soft but holds its line well. This is my best driver combo of all time & have a brand new head & shaft in the cupboard.

2. Callaway RAZR Fit 8,5/ Fubuki K 70x. This feels more solid & launches slightly lower than the tour but with less spin & carries slightly more too, this combo feels like a sledge hammer that is just as long. I can swing this as hard as I can & I'll find the fairway, it's my current gamer & two newer drivers have not kicked it out. Awesome driver!

3. Callaway RAZR Fit Xtreme 9,5/ Fubuki A 70x. The feel & sound are awesome, the A flys lower than the Tour & K with low spin that hits the ground running with big roll. The feel at impact is like hitting a squash ball, really crushed sensation, I have missed to the right with this combo but that could be the head, as it is not as forgiving.

4. 815 DBD 9/ Fubuki A 60x. I'm still tweaking this setup with all it's cores/ weights etc. But the 60x feels different to the 70x, slightly firmer but flies a little higher with the same low spin. It is however still lower than the tour & K. In the short time I've played with this combo, I've had some seriously long drives, & will keep on trying to straighten out the flight, but this could be the longest of all once ironed out.

I have tried the J in the dbd but did not get along with the feel of the counter balance shaft & will play another day.

I placed my Fubuki Alpha shafts on my Taylormade M1 Driver and FW and Fubuki AX on the M1 Rescues. They out perform the Fujikura shafts that came with the M1's.

I have a Fubuki Tour 73 stiff in my driver (913 D2) and absolutely love it. A couple questions:

1. What current shafts are similar in profile and feel to Fubuki Tour?

2. What would be a good shaft for my fairway if I wanted to match the Tour 73 from my driver?

Not an apple to Apple

But the k is like and updated tour and the J is like an updated alpha.

Again not an exact but the k's had good success in the fairway where the J and the alpha where more different due to the counter balance difference

For me, I think fubuki K would be the only choice, that's what I play in my driver & it plays very close to the tour just with lower spin & more stability, thats a ++ for me, i would easily play it in my fairway, however, I have a Fubuki A 70x in my 3w & it's the best 3w combo I've had, mid flight/ low spin & long as he'll. I have no intension of changing this setup!

I too also feel that the Matrix 7M3 felt very close to the Fubuki tour, except that the flight was much lower, that being said, I have not hit the 7X3 or 7Q3 & if they feel like the M3 but with higher flight, then you could be very close to the tour! IMHO!

I never felt the K felt or performed anything like the Tour.

The K was way more Tip Stiff & it never felts as "Smooth" as the Tour.
