I have seven to watch for three different reasons. Petterson, Henderson, or Ko for the win and Nelly Korda and Madelene Sagstrom from the Symmetra tour to see how well they play. Oh, and Michelle Wie and Alison Lee because I can't look away from a train wreck.

 

I'm betting 2:1 on a blown rules call by the USGA during the tournament. If the rules call is on Petterson or Kerr we will have our first USGA fatality in an event. Even money that Holly Sonders wears too much make-up (which is a tough call on a fellow MSU grad) and is a shame because she can be a knock-out.

The broadcast team on the early bonus coverage sucks too! When explaining the troubles Ariya had at the ANA they originally said a major in Southern California, they then came back and said "I think it was the ANA".

That's nothing. One of the golf channel guy's in the studio pronounced Moriya's name like Mariah.

The long weekend totally screwed me up... it's Thursday already!

Will be setting the DVR and hoping for some quality golf. Being the former venue of the Frys.com takes some of the sheen off IMHO, would have loved to see the ladies playing Blackhorse instead and it could have easily handled an LPGA event.

 

Hopefully Brooke can keep her West Coast mojo rolling for another week :)

Watched 30mins worth at lunch (watch the rest on DVR tonight) and not to be Debbie downer, but it looks like they are just playing any other resort course they play a majority of the time. Maybe I'm still feeling the residual effect of the DJ fiasco, but a national open deserves a better course IMO, especially after how cool it was to watch them play Sahalee.

They said she went in a hazard, then they showed her 5th shot sail over the green. The never went back to show her 6th, 7th, or 8th shot.

I'm surprised by the set up, after having been surprised that they picked this course to begin with. Big open fairways, rough isn't bad, greens not particularly fast. It doesn't look appreciably different than when I played it.

 

It's nice to see them in California, but this is just an upscale resort course. Seems like there were better options.

After Sahalee every course seems boring. I hope they play there again soon.
