Evnroll Putters-- Amazing!!!

Recommended Posts

I played an Odyssey Metal X #7 for 6 years and could never knock it out of the bag despite several attempts. The ER5 Hatchback finally accomplished that feat. Just as good on the long putts but better on the short putts. I always thought the lie angle was a little too upright on my #7. I would tend to get the toe in the air a bit and pull putts. So I tried the ER5 at the store and loved it but want to make the same adjustment. So I ordered it at 69* lie angle and the left miss is gone. I know exactly where I'm going to hit this putter and my first round with it showed. Played pristine greens at Spanish Bay and made a 7 or 8 putts outside 10 feet which is not my normal round. Needless to say I'm a convert. My playing partner who has sworn by his seemore even asked to try mid round because of the difference it made in my game. Love it. Really happy with it.

ER5 just arrived at my doorstep today. It's taken all my willpower not to speed off to the nearest putting green to get started. Willpower is fading...

Yep. Those babies are nice. MGS tested and approved for sure. They proved these putter have tech that simply puts a better role on the ball. You make more putts. Putts hit off the sweet spot, putts hit a little off, etc are going straighter, similar distances, minimal losses, etc. I really want to try one. Literally all the golf stores near me closed. Golfsmith, golf galaxy, etc - all gone. Nearest is a few PGA tourstores about 45-60 min away.

I've been putting my best rounds since getting the ER2sc. Those I play with have commented many times on my distance control with this putter. I picked up a PXG Bat Attack putter cheap to experiment but it's gonna be hard to kick the ER2sc out.

I just picked one of these up myself. Had never tried center shafted but so far the honeymoon has been great! Making a real push to stay in the bag full time.

Has the standard shaft in the ER5 changed? I've always seen a more traditional single bend shaft in ER5's at golf stores. Near face balanced. I just got an ER5 with the single bend much closer to the head, with much more toe hang. Think Cameron 5.5M shaft. Shaft has all the typical Evnroll shaft labels and stock grip. Certainly looks like it came from them.

After so many putters I finally found a putter that works it may be large ugly whatever the er9 is insanely good, the quality of these putters is top notch well done to the entire Evnroll company and made in the States is a bonus!

I posted this as a separate posting, but only got one response thus far. I'm a lefty looking at the ER5 and ER7. What are, if any, major differences between them besides one's a full mallet and one's a wing-back? Does one have higher MOI than the other? I asked Evnroll this, and they just said "both were pretty stable". So, I also notices that they had some different toe-hangs:

From Evnroll Germany's FB page:

Evnroll Putter Toe Hang Information

("toe down" values in °)

Evnroll Blade Putter:

Relation Blade: 30°

ER2 Mid Blade: 25°

Er3 Wing Blade: 30°

Evnroll Mallet Putter:

Er5 Hatchback: 5° (almost face balanced)

Er6 Softer: 5° (almost face balanced)

ER7 Full Mallet: 23°

Er8 Tour Mallet: 23°

Face-balanced putter are more likely to support a relatively straight back -/ by swing at the putt (" straight " or " " Square "), with a toe-slope of the putter, is more likely to be used for players with a light curve (" Arc, strong arc).

I'm pretty sure I'm a slight arc putter. I do well with Seemore putters (center shafted).

I'm also looking at the Odyssey EXO 7S.

Choices, choices, choices. At least as a lefty, we've got choices nowadays. 30 years ago, different story.

I recently went thru a putter fitting and found the 7S to be the best fitting for me. However I really liked the technology behind Evnroll.

I have been strictly a blade player but discovered I have very little arc in my swing. Which would suggest mallet, I just can’t get past the look of them.

I ended up going with the ER3; blade looking, but more stability.

I did putt around with the ER5 and ER7; both felt very stable and went back and thru with ease. ER5 to me was visually easier to look at for me.

ER1.2 went into the bag for my round Saturday. The ER1 and ER1.2 models had the best numbers for me at my putter fitting. Found out that 25*-35* degrees of toe hang give me the best chances of getting square club face contact with my swing. Coming from a long list of Scotty Newport styles, I like the smaller look with the plumbers neck on the ER1.2 over the ER1.0. What really impressed me was how the swing weight felt so balanced with my stroke. The pistol grip design he uses flows well into the palms making that one piece feel seamless connection. My favorite part is the solid block putter head @355g with milled grooves instead of the insert style heads floating around these days. Putter out on the greens seems the same to me. I can say I have more confidence over the ball since the putter fitting and knowing how the grooves work I just need to concentrate on the speed control. Honestly can't say the putter is amazing but only time will tell when I have more experience with the putter.

Please keep in mind the feedback I'm giving is only from one round of golf this past weekend and my 1hr putter fitting session. Never heard of Evnroll until my fitting but for now I'm impressed. So far so good guys, but I'll leave it in the bag for the rest of the season to really get a feel and better understanding of the Evnroll groove tech.

I received my ER5 today 33” 385 grams. First of all this is an amazing looking putter! The fit and finish is excellent. I took it to the practice green. I love the feel/sound. It’s muted and soft but not as soft as a white hot. I will be playing 18 on Thursday and will be able to get a better feel for it.

That is the model, length and weight that I am considering. Can not find one locally to try out. Looking forward to hearing how it works for you.

Are the shafts to evnroll putters inserted directly in to the head? Or do they lay over a nub like a lot of double or single bend shafts do?

I'd like to make an armlock putter from an ER2 but I'm not sure I can bend it enough to get the correct loft.

  • 2 weeks later...

After about four weeks with my ER5, I'm a huge fan. By far the best putter I've used - I doubt it's a coincidence that it's also the first putter I've been fitted for.

I still have my frustrations on the greens, but it's easier than ever to tell when I've made a poor stroke. The way the grooves on the putter are built absolutely feels like it helps on mishits, especially inside 6-8 feet. I'm better at hitting the center of the face of an 8 iron than a putter, for some reason, and I've made a few short putts where I missed on either the toe or heel side that I'm pretty sure would have missed with previous putters I've owned.

It's not a magic pill, but I've never been more excited to stand over putts.

With my ER5 putter today was a day when I realized how great this putter is...10-15 feet putts, I did not even have any problems with this putter...Distance control...outstanding. Putting right or left breaks...putting the ER5 to the hole. I saw it today, how confident with this putter. Its not going to be leaving my bag!!!!

I just picked up a used ER1.2, head only. I am planning on marking an arm lock putter out of it as I like putting that way. I spoke with Evnroll my plan is to get it shafted and then send it off to them to the have the loft and lie adjusted.

I wanted to try a graphite putter shaft, but I can't believe the cost they get for those, so I think I will probably order a black shaft in steel off of Golfworks and install that. Anyone have any experience with a graphite putter shaft and if so, what brand and where you can pick one up?

I posted this in the deals section but the Black murdered out er5 is on Dicks and this weekend it is 25% off. Pretty awesome deal!
Rolled a few at the PGASS yesterday, just can’t get used to the high pitched sound at impact, great looking in the all-black though. Thanks for posting.

Hopefully, they will offer the same setup with all their other models, which have no slight high pitched sound at impact.

@Kenstl I've had a few graphite shafts in super high end Camerons back when I was collecting. They look really nice, but I couldn't tell a bit of difference between them and steel. But that was 5 or 6 years ago now, and I really think those putters were never really made to use as gamers. It may be different now with all the new tech but that was my experience with them. I want to say the shafts on my Camerons were Fujikura? Maybe?

I thought the ER3 sounded awful but the ER2 was fine. Some of them are definitely pingy
