I have a sleeve and haven't played them because I don't want to like them if they aren't going to be available for me to play them.

Just play the damn things Geaux. Nothing magical about them except the fact they disappeared. :)

Yeah yeah. But I'm really OCD about a golf ball. I have played a yellow Arizona zstar XV for years and have tried to switch several times and it bothers me on a weird level. Now I have it in my head that they aren't compressing. So I am struggling with it. It's probably all in my mind. But the q star and the standard z are going further off my irons.

But no, don't you know that a wedge can only compress the right ball? Why else would the XV travel 80 yards with the 56 and the zstar goes 85 with what I promise is the same swing.

Well different golf balls perform differently for different swings.

At 80 yards with a 56-degree you are not "compressing" any golf ball enough for the core to matter much at all. The performance at such a moderate clubhead speed and with such an oblique contact with the face is almost entirely due to the cover.

So maybe the two balls have different cover hardnesses. Or different dimple designs.

It's amazing to me how the marketers from certain companies have drilled this whole "compression" meme into golfers. Every other aspect of a golf ball is ignored, only "compression" matters to most golf ball buyers. Remarkable.

eBay prices back up to $40/dozen. It would be a quick $120 for me?

I really should do the same.

This thread is still going?

Someone catch me up on the last 100 pages. Have they captured 20% of the golf ball market yet? Is the industry suitably disrupted now, or shall we give it another 100 pages for the full disruption to take effect?

If Costco could keep up with the demand this ball would make a larger impact in the golf world. To call the KSig a performance golf ball is certainly realistic. To say that the KSig is better than a ProV1 is a subjective matter. I agree with North Butte in that "different golf balls perform differently for different swings." I have gamed this ball, and am still attempting to see how it performs vs the Taylormade Tour Preferred and TP5 balls I am playing now that I am playing pretty well. To say the ball is performing decently is an accurate statement because I am still trying them. A decently performing "performance" golf ball at $1.25 (less shipping charges averaged per 2 dozen balls) is still a pretty enticing ball. Yes, if Costco could keep up with the public demand and offer the ball at the $30 for 2 dozen this ball would make a more significant impact.

3-piece Ball and different dimple count. Hmm...

The natural guess here for me would be that they just could not negotiate successfully with Nassau Golf and have gone to another manufacturer.

All three say SM Global, LLC

SM global is a shell company so Costco can get goods from grey markets, etc is what I am led to believe
