The top pic is a used/scuffed V-2. The bottom is a brand new V-3.  I played all but the last 2 holes with the new ball with no scuffs or marks and hit it OB.  Seems durable.  Time will tell.

What we all really want to know is: how was your driver distance comparing a v2 vs v3 (new) vs other premium balls? Off iron, and off wedges greenside. Good to hear about durability though!

This is helpful but leaves much to

be desired. So durability seems to be a smidge better yet, many of the players on here preach that it’s a super durable ball already (not the case for me).

I think many of us, without having to source info from MGS, are hoping to read that the ball is a smidge firmer, spins a tad less and is more durable.

The price is good. Can’t complain there.
There’s a ton of us that have a lot of balls around but, I’d like to see the yellow.

I played a course today that I don't regularly play. I will have a better idea when I play it a few times on my regular course.

Is it my imagination, or does there seem like some inconsistency in the thickness of the urethane cover? Maybe I’m looking at a cut at the bottom of the dimple vs between dimples? Just looks to be more than that to my eyes? Would variation make much difference anyway?

those are the dimples, the dimples are random, so some spots you're looking at is a different spot in a dimple

Lol. There isn't any 4 piece ball right now anyway. So it's kirkland v3. If you want to refer to the non-existent 4piece ball, say so. Simple.

True. But bear in mind that when this naming convention was proposed about 100 thread pages ago--and proposed by someone other than me BTW--there was a third-gen 4 pc that had shown up on the conforming list. We thought we might get a new 4 pc and people wanted a way to differentiate.

But I agree it's probably unnecessary unless another 4 pc ever shows up.

Thicker mantle layer, and looks to be a different dimple pattern on the new ball.

I've got a couple boxes of the V2 as well,  but am thinking I'll keep them for my son and switch to the V3 myself.

My son gets all the balls I buy on sale and don't want.  Top Flite Gamers, Callaway Diablo Tours, about 1.5 dozen TP5's and now 2 dozen Kirkland V2.  LOL

Yep. Just bought them at the Hillsboro store.

Got a box at Portland costco - wasn’t planning on it but walked down the aisle, wife said, the golf ball box looks different. I said yes, and that they supposedly have changed them a little bit. SHE said i should get a box. Who am i to argue? Happy wife happy life right?

trying them out tomorrow and depending on who I’m with, might hit a few extra and compare v2 and….wedge wedge performance + wedge wedge version.

Just told my wife this story, she agreed, and thinks that I should get some, too, when I get a chance.

My wife is awesome.

And speaking of that....  she plays golf a bit.  Not as into it as me, but she enjoys it.  Last year, started playing in a ladies league at a par 3 course.  Late summer, she's talking about practicing, says "we should put a putting green in our yard."

Yes, she is awesome.

After my wife saw my stash I can't even mention new balls.  I get "You said you had enough to last next few years?"  I do, but since when does that matter.  Of course I didn't say that out loud.  I need yellow balls.  I have about 12 dozen white balls between the 6 doz. white Vice Pro, 2.5 doz. Vice Pro red/blue drip (almost white), 3.5 dozen Maxfli Tour.  I have 1 dozen Vice Pro Neon.  Vice running 5+1 deal again till 5/22.  I feel like a drug addict.  But, I will be buying at least 1 double dozen white and 1-2 double dozen yellow of the Kirkland.

My name is Anthony and I'm a golf ball addict...........

I tell my wife that the reason I have so many balls is because I buy when they are on sale and I make sure I can get through a few years without a sale.

... Nice! You would think Phoenix would have golf balls before Portland but maybe since most of the snowbirds are gone they want to supply them back at home. 🙄  I have been to 3 Costco's in the last 2 days and 2 had no balls at all and one had a full pallet of the old V2's.

Looks pretty good, wondering how it's going to work for higher swing speeds, 149 ball speed is pretty low.

That looks like a 95-98 mph swing speed.  Mine is like 92-96 depending upon day.

to anyone under 100 mph, I recommend watching some Dr. Kwon videos on Youtube. He has some simple drills to get your swing speed up. I've gone from around 109 to 120 in a few months with a smooth swing, and not swinging out of my shoes or anything. I had my friend do the drills at the range, and in about 30 minutes he went from around 84 to 92mph. His goal is to get to 100, which is doable for his age/build.

My driver was atrocious about 1.5 years ago.  Took me a year to shorten my backswing (ala Rahm/Finau).  Finally got my driver to the point where I'm consistently hitting fairways or first cut.  I carry 225-245 depending on strike, wind, temp, etc... I'm happy with that.  When i used to stripe it and carried 250+ I would have to spend strokes getting back into play.  I sometimes wish I could get a little more distance but I'm enjoying going for the greens in regulation.  Funny thing is I went from smashing it hitting in the 90's to shortening the swing with a little less distance shooting mid 80's.

It's all about keeping it in the short stuff for sure. I rarely hit my driver because of that. I got a mini 300 last year, and average around 280 or so with it, can get it over 300 if I step on it, but I hit so many fairways with it.
