Should Topic Title Be: Tiger Is Done, or Is Tiger Done?

The sooner he quits, the better. Painful to watch, and it's not going to get better. He's been dealing with this set, reset, then reset again for at least 3 years. He torched his body with his violent swings, and it's not going to recover.

I remember watching him as an amateur and seeing how hard he swung a pitching wedge, and wondering: can his body do that for a lifetime? Answer: no.

EDIT 5 pages into the thread: I have said it several times, I hope he proves me wrong. No golfer, and perhaps no athlete, has had his flair for drama in the context of unfathomable talent.

I feel sorry for him. From a players standpoint ) I know he's rich ). But also for Jason day and DJ. Playing with tiger had to contribute to them both missing the cut.

It doesn't matter what you may think.

He believes he has a lot more in the tank.

He's done when he says he's done.

Meanwhile, While I understand that it's painful for you to watch, I don't understand why you insist on prolonging that pain, when all you have to do to end it, is stop watching.

I agree with you. I watched every minute of his performance at the Farmers, and he's done. Looking at his face on the final few holes, he knows it, too.

Tons of competitive rust on his game. IF he stays healthy he'll be in good form in early April.

And I agree with you. I only watched the "highlights" (i.e., lowlights). So yes, by just looking at his face, you imagine you can sense what he's thinking, and it looked like he was thinking "Who's f...ing body is this? How do I get this body to do what I need it to do?"

I didn't say it in my original post (may go back and add), but understand I am as big a Tiger fan as there is. No, I won't be watching, just looking away. I would absolutely love it if he proves me wrong.

He's done if you were expecting him to recapture the magic from 15 years ago.

If you have more realistic expectations, he's not done. He'll get better slowly if he stays healthy, and he'll win a tournament eventually, which will fuel talk of the major hunt being back on. He may even sneak another major if his short game holds up. Maybe....

He's driving it poorly + Torrey Pines South Course tight fairways and heavy rough = Missed cut. Driving crooked is by far the biggest issue in his game but there are certain courses you can get away with it on, Augusta National for one. So too early to say whether he is done, although I can't see him figuring much at Riviera coming up either.

I hate this open stance left shoulder left of target trying to release early for draws or push fades.....I wish he could play straight ball good posture like jason day. He wont win if he continues this stand up tall setup left use the hand to time it right swing. His back must be really jacked up. It makes me sad

Didn't we hear this kind of jabber back in 2012 and 2013? And how did that turn out?

I'm not counting Tiger out until he officially says he's retired or until he is 52 years old.
