Ping Sigma G putters

[Grip It & Rip It 82]

Tried the Ping Sigma G line today against the Odyssey OWorks and Taylor Made Spider Tour Putters. Sigma G Line was very nice and although the O-Works CH Fang won in my testing a very close second was the CS Ping Kinloch. Weight and feel was perfect and roll was smooth just not as smooth as the O-Works. The Tyne was my 2nd favorite. Finishing in last were the Spider Tours. On short putts 3-5' it was money but longer lags wanted to pull left for me. I think I will be grabbing an O-Works Fang and a Ping Kinloch CS.

Is the Doom counter balance?

yes, the Doon is a CB only model

buddy of mine putted with mine, but he is a little taller than me, and likes the longer, CB grips....

 

he currently puts with a double bend shaft Oddesy works Large Headed Anser style... at 35" with a longer grip...

When you order through your PING retailer, those little change of specs are granted no problem. However, it may cost you a little extra.

Saw these today, and the grips covered about 2/3 of the shaft bands. I know this might seem like a minor issue, but it seems like poor workmanship to me.

The only information on the band is the stroke type. Not poor workmanship; simply the only info they decided to put on the shaft band.

It's not. It's simply all they decided to include on the band. Why such a small shaft band? You'd have to ask Ping.

Was the band just that small? It looked strange. I know this is kind of nit picky, but I've used Ping putters since the early 80s, and the placement of this band looked odd. I did like the look and feel of the black Anser.

It was weird at first, but I think they put it near the grip so that it intentionally wouldn't stand out. It makes sense. You wouldn't ever need that info unless you went looking for it.

I don't think he wants to CB his putter...just have the CB grip installed on it. If so, that won't be a problem with PING.

I don't like SS either. This one feels better and I like the slightly rounded edges rather than the harsh flatness. If you can't wait, I just put one on my KB 9306.

Nice Classic Darby for sure , Rolled the Sigma G Darby again today, really liked it considering how good it was even though it was the wrong hand for me being left hand . I could not resist I ordered a lefty model. Not sure about the grip may have to change to a PP58 midsize the same as my Ketsch.
