New Ping driver - 2017

I want to get the Ping G irons but I'm waiting for the new Ping G400's. I hate waiting and hope I'm not disappointed! Hope they are fairly close in size and don't lean toward the Gmax, but more toward the i200 look.

much thinner topline than any previous G iron ... does not look chunky at all but still brings all of the G benefits ...

I like the thoughts of thinner G replacement. I have the G25 irons which I like very much but like any good WRX member, I wouldn't mind trying something new. Looking forward to seeing some pictures.

I was going to wait for the new Ping, but I was weak. The cobra deal was too good to pass up. I've went from a ping fanboy to having a ketsch and g30 fairway as my only ping clubs. Would love to get a ping driver back in my bag, but can it beat a GBB and f7+?

Yeah I'd be interested in replacing my G25s if the G400 are comparable.

 

gents, this release directly replaces only G iron. GMax will continue to be available, it's update comes in '18.

I was at Carls Golfland the other day and the Gmax was back order for certain iron heads until August I was told.

It must have been the shaft I tried but I didn't love them when I tried them. I need to give them a second try, maybe with the KBS.

When I visualize that, I am right back to the S55's��

... except now made outta the 431 steel, with Hydropearl finish, and a few more years wisdom of experimenting with CTP.

Saw all the new stuff today. Driver(s) looks awesome. 445 CC. Weight on sole is Tungsten which plays a key role in maintaining same forgiveness/launch characteristics of G but in a smaller package. Forged face!? Sits very square at address, almost looked open to my eye. FW wood and Hybrid look very similar to current model...turbulators a bit more pronounced. Alta CB shaft throughout line in new color scheme that looks copper in the light but black at address. Pretty slick. One interesting thing of note, especially for this crowd...3 premium shafts will be offered at only a $45 upcharge. Marketing launch (pics) July 10, release July 28.

 

Do you happen to know what the three $45 premium upgrades are?

 

Hzrdus Yellow 75 (5.5, 6.0, 6.5), Kuro Kage Silver DC TiNi 60 (R,S,X) and the Aldila X Torsion 65 (R, S).

 

I'll be seeing and hitting all of the new G400 products on Tuesday. Won't be taking any pictures but I'll post my thoughts.

 

Ho ho ho!! I've had great results with the G30LS and KKDC. So awesome to hear Ping is offering the KKDC for a very modest upcharge. This yet-to-be unveiled driver has just jumped to the top of my gotta-try list. Could be one helluva club.

I'm interested in the next iteration of the Crossover and I remember this being posted by Ping Golf's twitter account awhile back, maybe beginning of Summer. One of the reasons it stood out was twofold. First, it looked like it wasn't in the dark finish. Second, there was no trailing edge relief and the sole looked alittle thinner. I dismissed it thinking it was a special hand grind for tour use or they were going to release a satin finish crossover mid summer or something. I'm posting this picture and if anyone can confirm it that would be great. Otherwise if it's the same Crossover, I apologize in advance for any time wasted.

The weight chip used for the G400 line is interchangeable between the driver, fairway and hybrid.

Great looking product that sounds and feels awesome.
