why would they put a sight line on all of them except the slant neck?

Taylor is saying that all the models will have a sightline, including the slant neck. The original Jason Day model with slant neck and no sightline will also continue to exist.

I understood what he was saying. I'm asking what the thought process is behind it from Taylormade? As someone who would rather use a putter without any alignment aids, that kind of sucks for me if I wanted a plumber's neck model with no sight line... it's much easier to put one on if you want it versus taking one off.

I'm intrigued but the Dustin Johnson/Jason day putters. I'm on TMs website and they have four choices. Spider tour black, spider Tour red, spider limited red, and spider tour platinum.

I'm kind of confused by the descriptions. Other than the sight line and the offset/shaft are they all the same head?

Is the DJ version the more coveted version?

It says Day plays the same version as DJ but it's red....then the limited red which is a completely different putter is inspired by Day?

Can someone clear these up? I think I'm gonna end up searching for the black DJ version

Most coveted is the DJ version. Haaaaa haaaa too funny. You know Jason Day made that popular while DJ was still using Titleist. Same head different color. The Red was introduced as a retail followup to Jason Day wanting it in red. Well that didnt last too long as now he is back to using a white version.

I get TM is trying to please the Golfwrx crowd but this seems like overkill in terms of models. Good for us but wonder how it will play out for them in terms of sales, etc

Has anyone had their Spider Red paint coming off near the face? I know its inevitable from usage but it happened sort of quickly. Has anyone used paint or have any ideas how to make it look brand new again?

Do you mean the black paint on and around the insert? I am about to return my 2nd red Spider tour in 2 weeks having played 1 round with each. Simply wiping the face down with a towel started to take the black paint off.

Anyone else had this issue?

Random question, do you have any idea if he was playing it at the standard 345g headweight? I'm curious as that would be closer to the headweight of the Scotty he was using last year until he switched to the Spider. The Spider as far I'm aware weighs 355g.

It was a custom TP putter with a milled face instead of the insert. I'm not sure on the head weight.

That putter looks good. I own a black spider which I like but started playing around with a red JD model and like it a little better. The color seems easier to align and I like the feel a little better.

My only issue is after my first round I had to return it due to the face paint coming off. The next day I took out the new one out and the sound is horrible, like an aluminum bat or something. I sent a video of it to Taylormade but they never responded. It seems to have gotten a little better, maybe the face was loose or something. Still may try to get a replacement.

I thought DJs was a lot heavier and had like an e1 swing weight?

Does anyone know if the grip on the tour black is either 57 or 75 grams. I want to change it to a superstroke, but I want to make sure the swing weight stays the same.

I have had this issue as well, as well as tour guys who game it... look at Rahm's, same flaking around the edges. So far it's not too bad, and not distracting... Just cosmetic and for me, as I had to make adjustments to the putter not worth getting a new one that I'll have to adjust again that will probably end up doing the same thing.

I gave up and traded in my spider. I really tried hard to use it but it just wasnt meant to be. I had the JD version and when I would use my V1xs it was impossible for me to get the speed right. I was constantly leaving putts short. It was just too soft of an insert for me. I never gave the DJ version a shot but for now, it's someone else's putter to buy.

I switched back to my Newport 2 and the next round, 1st hole I launched a 10ft putt past the hole about 25 feet. I never realized how hard I was actually trying to hit that Spider.

I got a new Super Stroke pistol grip and changed the weights on my Scotty and next round I had 5 one putts within 10 feet. That is something I never had with the Spider

If I read this correctly you seem to be saying there's MORE THAN a 25 foot "difference", on only a 10 foot putt, between the TM Tour Spider and your Scotty.

You do know how ridiculous that sounds, yes ?

I mean I GET that putters "rebound" a bit more or a bit less, and even act differently with different balls, but c'mon now,,,,,,,,,,,,,

This is 1 month old. Head cover always stays on in the bag. You guys think I should contact tm for a replacement?

I NEVER use the stock headcover. It doesn't protect it at all. I'd get a nice leather one with a magnet. You'll have to replace the stock one anyhow, eventually, as it's velcro. Might as well do it now!
