Finish looks awesome, but the paint-fill looks a little ragged. Or is that just the photos?

no, not just the photos. the paintfill in a few places needs touching up (i can do that myself) -- it's all good.

Finished product doesn't disappoint. I'd almost prefer them without any paintfill, then they would look super clean.

i just might do that with the numbers on the bottom.

I don't mean any harm by this comment - but the groove job looks like it is heavier in some spots - particularly towards the bottom groove and heel.

I'd be interested to know the before and after weights.

Really nice job on the stamping fill also - they are a lovely refinish and as expected from the iron factory - lots of praise on here.

it appears that way bc the faces weren't all clean/flat due to all the use. They're ok, I assure u.

I've been waiting to see how these turned out. Wow...they look so good with just the TaylorMade logo on the muscle. Great choice to have the Tour Preferred MB removed.

I just had Tiger Nick strip a few wedges for me and leave them raw. I told him to either paint the number on the bottom or leave them unpainted. I refresh the number on the bottom from time to time and don't look at the other paint unless it bothers me cause it's plugged with mud or peeling.

Look great, I have a satin set with the paint fill removed. I like the clean look.

Yeah that was a good choice. Those things look sick. Sidenote: I also had some minor paint fill issues with my clubs that Jim refinished. Really no big deal however.

The Iron Factory does a fantastic job. I didn't have a lot of pics of my old Mizuno TN-87's.

CIMG0003.JPG

But, here's how they came out afterward:

CIMG0002.JPG

CIMG0001.JPG

I can tell you that most of the set were not even in the same galaxy in terms of condition. I put some Nippon Modus 130 shafts in them and while that shaft jived well with my Yonex blades, it launched too high with the TN-87's. I then fell in love with the Yonex blades and decided to sell the TN-87's.

I found that the rougher the condition of the irons the more weight would be lost. However, the most that I lost was 6 grams on a very badly conditioned head. On pretty good conditioned heads I would lose 1-2 grams. I would just add a tip weight to make up the difference.

With your TM's, I'm guessing you didn't lose more than 3 grams on any head (if that).

With the tip weights, that may still alter the CoG of the head. I never really tested for that. I'm going to send my 1967 Hogan PC5's to them once I find the PW for the set that's in pretty good shape as the rest of the set is in pretty good shape. IIRC, the Hogan 1967 PC5 heads are quite heavy, so any loss of weight should be okay given how heavy they are to begin with.

I didn't lose a lot bc of the welding and whatnot. He did quite a few coats/layers under the chrome to get some weight back. I used tip weights and they're right where I need them swing weight wise.

Those look great I was looking at a set to send in. What was the best way to contact them? I tried calling them but they didnt answer. Thanks!

Honestly, I wouldn't even try to contact them, not great at customer service. Their products aren't even that good for them to not answer phone calls. They have lost my business and it saddens me

i am looking to get this done on a set of irons. i started with Tigernick as from what i have seen he does great work. but it was impossible to get any kind of response. i have money in hand wanting to do this but i guess he is busy enough he didnt need. it The iron factory was my next choice. I am not thinking about polishing them up myself to just a raw finish and adding lead tape to get the weight back up.
