Tiger Woods testing a TaylorMade Ardmore 3 putter - new photos added

All I can say is that if he finishes near the top this week with that putter, Taylormade better start loading containers full of them because they will be disappearing from shelves like bread before a hurricane.

There aren't many of these Ardmore 3s around. I checked with Carlsbad. They only have about 1000 of them as of Thursday! After today's Friday round the way it is going with a couple of holes left, they won't last long especially if this continues thru the weekend.

Interestingly TM putter count on tour is quite substantial without the Ardmore.

One thing TW has had with this putter is excellent speed and distance control which has not been good with his old Scotty the past two months!!

Rolled it well with the new stick throughout Round 2. Even the missed puts seemed to be well struck.

 

BTW, the one he's using sure looks like TM just sand blasted a red one and rattle canned it black. Very easy to do and get away with on insert putters.

I don’t know of any putter with a painted finish that doesn’t start showing wear very soon. At minimum brush marks on the sole.

The whole concept of buying something the pros play just cracks me up so much. Take a $199 set of top flight irons and put them in the hands of a PGA pro and the PGA pro would destroy any one of us. What makes anybody think that buying the same clubs/putter as a PGA pro would make us play like them. I know the phenomenon is not new but it still cracks me up.

No. The slant neck is available in the Red Ardmore 3. Plus, the black/copper paint doesn’t even match Tiger’s because his doesn’t have copper. His is essentially the red version painted black, with a red face insert. I bet someone could do some custom work if anyone really wanted to go that far.

Yep. And it has to do with his back. Horschel mentioned that tiger couldn’t bend over enough to comfortably use his putter bc of his back.

I heard him say that. Exactly why my putters are 37 inches. I'm not hurt or had fusion sugery, but it sure makes a difference towards the end of a round.

How is that immoral? If someone is willing to pay that price, that is their choice. Nothing immoral about putting an ad up for an amount, whether it is astronomical or not, that is up to the buyer.

I thought I remember reading something here on wrx recently that said he was more upright after the latest back surgery compared to previous years.
