That one has a plumber's neck. Tiger's has a flow neck or slant or whatever Taylormade calls it

You're right, I just fixed it, but he was commenting on a special color not available at retail? On second look maybe it is. Seems to lack the copper finish

As it is mentioned, he does like to release the toe. However when he putts poorly he doesn't release the toe. I imagine that he reached into JT's locker and used his back at home. I zoomed in on the putter and there are a lot of nicks and dings of the putter. It's my guess that he has had this at home for awhile now. If he putts marginally better over the remainder of the year, I'd say its 50:50 that he will win something.

Given that TW is on a performance based TM contract with minimal $$ for bagging clubs, the TM CEO is probably pretty pleased with the hype this has created, even if he still games the SC today. They've likely shifted a few extra putters as a result. My guess is that he has this as a trainer putter but might put it in the bag for a few rounds. Something fresh to look at.

I’m part native. And I’ll say that’s a figure of speech. Indian is a misnomer , and real Indians don’t use arrows. At least not since the Chinese invented gunpowder.

 

As for the putter. Baloney. It’s certainly woods. Not the putter that suddenly stopped working. Clubs don’t lose things over time. People do.

Wouldn't be 100% on that if he uses it this week, especially if he putts well. Greens over here tend to be much slower than the 12/13 stimping ones you have in America; here they tend to be 10/11.

 

Tiger regularly says he likes quicker greens, so a mallet with some face roll tech will essentially speed them up for him.

The golf equipment industry as a whole is based on people needing a new look or being tired of what they have. Charles Howell III has made a life in changing his equipment every few months to give himself a new look to play better. It's not wrong, just different. TW is just another golfer who needed something different. If he really wanted an updated Scotty, all he had to do was ask and he would probably make it personally. Heck, he might be now. He could use a hockey stick if he believed in it. It doesn't matter to me personally. Sink putts. That's all that's important. But like I said in another thread: Faxon needs to get in his head.

He literally could play one hole, snap it on his knee and play the rest of the round with a 60 degree and the best would stand.

 

That being said, I'd love to see it in the bag. Why not make the change. It's not like he's been competitive with the Scotty.

I'd be a little surprised if he would use a putter like this for just a training aid. I understand the toe hang feel, but with that insert it's going to really come off a lot differently, not to mention feel. It would throw speed totally off putting with this all week just to jump back to the Scotty.

Has anybody seen his Scotty in his hands at all this week? If not... why would he suddenly just switch back for his round? It'd be like if he had the Pro OJ in the driver and 3w all week then randomly today you saw him stick a Pro White back in. Seems unlikely.

Yes, when he took it out of the bag before Wednesday’s Pro Am and handed it to one of his handlers! Hahaha

 

I believe he came into the week with every intention to game the Ardmore, but brought the Scotty just in case he got cold feet.
