Chrome removal is not a DIY job.  Nasty chemicals which need to be handled and disposed of properly.  Though that said there was someone earlier in the thread who got good results doing it himself using a grinder instead of chemicals.

Waiting is Def the hardest part 

I don’t NEED them immediately. I’m just anxious to see how they turn out.  I’m sure with the season starting and all of us sending in heads at about the same time, he probably has a backlog.  He and I chatted when they arrived, so I’m not worried about that.  He has only had them 2 weeks today.  I figure at the prices being charged, he deserves a little break from me if he’s got a lot at the same time.

 

I have grips, ferrules, weights, shafts and all supplies needed, so I’m ready when they get here.  Just got a note our golf league starts in less than 4 weeks.  But, these are a backup set so if I don’t have them ready to play, no big deal.  
 

I can’t wait to see how everyone else’s turn out too.  What I have I hope, is unique - PXG 0211ST blades.  We will see!

They are the oichi blanks. It took me about a month or so to finish them. I actually hit them for the first time yesterday and they feel very solid, fairly forgiving  and I love the look of them. The sole seems to perform very well

As mentioned, Doug thought theyd be done yesterday and received my bill last night .No pics, but wasnt expecting them, nor did I ask.

 

Need to order the gun blue and get ready to build when they get here.

Mine arrived today.  I couldn’t be more pleased with how they turned out.  Now, it’s just getting them built.

Well seeing soccer's made me excited as mine were also due today. Usps didn't let me down.. 

 

Arrived with Doug 9feb and in my hands 10mar.. Aside frim the silence, I couldn't be happier. I have a set of j40s that I bought with intention of sending in, that is absolutely gonna happen this fall. Probably along with my zx5/7 combo

 

I'll provide the before and after weight tomorrow for those curious. Gonna gun blue and build this weekend or next. 

 

Decisions decisions. Thought I was set for this bag but bbnfco decides to release 'gators' today.. Def a sign

 

 

Annnnnd maybe tmi, but I find myself smelling my hands and heads.. There is something addicting about that smell of raw metal.

I might have to send my projects out from now on for proper stripping. Went to a place today to use a media blaster to strip some Macgregors Tourney PCB... Holy s*** those clubs are soft... totally messed up the first head I did. Never saw so much material removed 😞

On the 5 PXG 0211 ST heads I sent in, between 9.5 - 10.9 grams were removed.  I just used 10 gram tip weights to get them back in swing weight spec.

‘Yeah, that’s in the neighborhood of what I saw in mine.  I don’t have a tool to measure the VCOG, but would love to know how much mine shifted to the heel with the tip weights I added.

I absolutely love this thread. It made me send in some stuff and have them stripped. I had a set of TM p750 and had the new MG3 TW wedges fully stripped. I loved the wedges but didn’t like only the face rusting so said screw it!
