What up with Jordan?

Jordan seems much more reliant upon the opinions of others than most top performers on tour.

 

Hope he gets the problems worked out, as he's a terrific young man by all accounts.

T me it speaks to his mental strength and the swing being the real root. I mean Rory has to go low to tie him Sunday. How mentally weak could he be ?

Rory needs a new caddie I think, but he has remade his entire staff over the last 2 years surrounding himself with people who look out for him first. JS is at the same crossroads as TW was when he was younger...the swing coach the TW had as a junior could only take him so far..then came Butch...JS has gone as far as he can go with CM, he needs someone who can clear his mind and teach him. a "big boy Tour swing" that will hold up under pressure. JS is no longer an impressionable kid, he is a grown man and needs to be treated like one. He has mad skills, he made enough birdies to be a factor, unfortunately he also made too many mistakes to shoot himself out of consideration

It was either Friday or Saturday morning while everyone was on the range warming up, but I heard one of the announcers say something to the effect of "Jordan had Sean Foley look at his driver". Nothing against Sean Foley but, well, you know... I hope nothing comes of it.

Rory needs a good stiff kick in the rear end by his father. Every time he misses a putt he looks like a cry baby. He's self defeating. I read that Tiger's caddy was cussing him out early in the final round yesterday. Then Tiger cussed himself out, and then he got back to playing.

It won't happen though, because Gerry has a life today that he never dreamed of when he was bar tending in NI.

I think what he meant was that on the 5th, Tiger and joey looked to be in a heated exchange.. But it turned out that Tiger, was just fuming/venting and that Joey, was just listening.. lol Tiger, went to the can relieved himself and kept cussing.. came out happy.. LOL F-Bombs man.. F-Bombs.. :)

Joe has a set on him too. Couple tournaments ago I saw him yank the hat off a persons head in the gallery who was casting a shadow in the way. He told him once. He didn’t move. He yanked it off and shoved it into his hands. Lol.

 

Wouldn’t shock me if he got into it with someone. Very nice sounding guy. But I doubt he suffers fools very long.

I'm guessing the caddies on tour deal with that stuff constantly. With Tiger being so popular, it's every single round at every tournament on every single shot around the fans (patrons hah) They likely get used to acting instead of politely repeating yourself 10 times and not getting a response. That's my guess.

I'm sorry, that sentence was misleading. Tiger's caddy was cussing out Tiger early in the round.

No idea. I just read that after Tiger made the two bogies early, LaCava was cussing at him. Then Tiger went to the John and cussed at himself, and then he returned to play some really good golf. I can't see Rory's caddy calling Rory out. But PJ did on occasion.

Tiger, was asked the question and he said that Joey, was just listening and that he was doing all the barking... Kept cussing himself in the can and returned happy.. lol

The problem with some of the youngins today is that they rely on others to tell them how they should feel and not to blame themselves.. Oldschool was to call your own butt out and fix it.. lol

2015 U.S. Open at Chambers Bay. I remember thinking Tiger was completely done at that point. Believe he struggled to break 80 both rounds and missed the cut by a mile. Spieth wins his 2nd straight major and is at the very top of the golf world. Things have sure changed a lot for these two guys over the last 4 years, especially the last year in particular.

The thread is about Spieth, but ESPN and others are comparing Tiger to Michael Jordan again because of what transpired yesterday. I didn't get to see the ESPN segment as my boss called me into his office.

As for Spieth (who many know is named after MJ), it seems like his putter is not as hot as it used to be. There may be other things stats wise, but it's amazing how the game does still come down to inches, especially considering how far everyone can hit their driver and irons these days.

Tiger averaged 294 off the tee at the Masters....not long by any stretch.....SPieth who is not a long hitter and hopefully he realizes he doesn't need to hit it 320 to win, especially at the Masters......these young guys want to hit it a mile every time...but Spieth is like a throwback player from a different era.....

Maybe the 12th hole meltdown to hand a green jacket to Willet affected him more than we thought.

More likely his short game just returned to good tour levels, it was optimistic to think he could sustain those prime tiger like levels forever.
