This, completely - fight with it all the time. Setup is visualize ball flight, grip right, feet right, shaft angle right. One, (and one only) practice swing, one waggle to loosed the wrists. A completely and consistently repeated pre-shoot routine is one of the central features of consistency in shots. 

 

Problem has always been that after the pre-shot, I start thinking - sometimes four for five seconds. Too much.  Tragic error. Is the main thing I'm going to work on this season. Do the pre-shot routine, then just hit the freaking ball before the brain gets engaged.

 

Not possible to "think" through a golf swing - it last's all of 1 - 1.5 seconds (for a few, even less). Tt is about a pure muscle memory, guided by intuition in the set-up.

 

My pre-shot is pretty good. Getting clear about where I want to hit, and where would be the primary miss. What trajectory should me, how I want it to behave on the green - controlling spin.  Works when I just swing. 

 

So that's my goal this year. Finish pre-shot, then hit ... immediately.

This just in from Liz.

 

What a fantastic weekend as Jordan had us all down in HH (Hilton Head) with all expenses paid.  Evidenced by the win, we made some great progress after the Masters.  When we arrived in HH (Hilton Head), we learned that a missed cut is not the end of the world and that success can often follow a failure.  We learned that it's okay to fail and that washing whites with darks is not always a good idea.
