What up with Jordan?

Guy is probably playing the best on tour in Calendar 2021 (the 2020-2021 stats are skewed because he was still in the dumpster late last year).  The question is can he add to the win column that matters most.

One of his comments was interesting.  Will he match his first 8 years output over the next 8 years?

I know he’s second on the fed ex and nearly won, but watching him was real difficult. He does not have control of the golf ball on full shots in particular when the pressure is on.

For what it’s worth I like the guy and want to see him win heaps, but I just don’t see it at present despite the figures, numbers and stats that some might suggest.

Here’s hoping he sorts it.

Just wait til he changes his putting stroke

He credited just that for the 63 Thursday…….must have been one of those “wood”** changes.

Let's not ever confuse Jordan with Ben Hogan or Byron Nelson.  Jordan plays modern golf - he sprays it off the tee and gets it up and down.

Personally, i don't like looking at his driver swing, closed left wrist at the top and laid off; it looks pretty unnatural to me.  But the man is a genius with a wedge and a putter.  I guess it just proves that you can slice it around the golf course and shoot a score with your putter.

This might not have been possible with persimmon and balata.

lol ... he was top 30 in fways hit this week ... 66 % to Colin's 60 % ... essentially tied with colin in gir ... bit better than "slicing" it around and shooting a score with a putter ...

What is it about the old equipment that makes some think modern players couldn’t handle it? Control the club face? Check.

You know better than to trip out the “Spieth is just a putter” song and dance.

i would think tom watson and spieth are a lot alike in game/personality/etc ... think tom did ok with persimmon and balatas ...

I don’t know. Lee Buck did a pretty swell job sliding it left to right , produced by a pretty good lower body slide and a held off clubface.  I think he also was a wedge master and could putt a lick or two.

im pulling for Rory.  But.  He would swap 20 yards of his driver for Jordan’s wedge and putter game. I have zero doubts.  And that’s not a jab. My point is , i don’t think he sprays it as much as you think. It’s just not uniformly pretty.  But it’s incredibly effective. I mean he doesn’t spray it nearly as much as say Phil or bryson.  They just get away with it because of the extra distance.

Are we really at a point where amateurs critique the swings of 3 and 4 time major winners?  lol......I agree with Blade on Rory and Spieths game....imagine if Arnold and Jack were in their prime right now and todays amateur who probably shoots 90-110 saw Arnolds swing??  lol......"yea, his follow through is all wrong and his wrist is bent 2 degrees too much..blah blah blah.....and Jacks backswing is too fast....he doesnt roatate enough...."..

i really get a chuickle out of these things
