Jordan may be on a trajectory to become his generation's Padraig Harrington.

He is still #15 in the world…..oh the horror!  See him soon behind the counter at 7-11 ….with Keegan apparently.🙈

Was just referring to his recent change in him where he appears to be doing a lot more tinkering than he's done in the past.  The swing he had around 2015 I though he'd own forever because it was just funky enough that it would keep working.  Really nothing to do w/his current ranking.

Yeah, and it’s hard to believe he is already older than the average age of those in the top 10.!

Tinkering never is going to help Jordan. And it won’t lead to anything good.

I can’t pinpoint the exact time that JS lost his swing. I can’t pick any tournament. Maybe it’s marriage and life in general but he’s looking for something he had 5 years ago.
5 years ago he was just free swinging.
Perhaps he was looking for distance? Not sure. He’s still got his putting game but the driver is gone.

I think that he was always holding his swing together with bailing wire and ear wax.  He just lost his ability to make bomb 25 foot putts.

Another tough tournament for Jordan, and now Dallas has a new hero.  Must be difficult.

That stupid over the top pre-swing move has to go.  My opinion.

Scheffler seems more well-grounded than Spieth, who seemed like a headcase even during peak performance in 2015. Besides a better attitude, Scheffler also has more physical talent. It’s amazing that Jordan won as much as he did given some of his mental quirks and lack of overwhelming physical ability.

We'd better start a "what up with Scheffler" in 2024.

P.S. holy cow, apparently, such thread already started.

Jordan has a couple things going on.

1) His full swing results, despite the odd pre-swing, have improved significantly.  He is hitting it good enough tee to green to win.

2) His putting, especially short putts, is the worst it has ever been. Hopefully only due to neglect rather than serious issues.

His issue with #12 on Friday was purely a course management mistake.  With the gusty wind, you play 12 to make no worse than 4.  Take extra bat, flight it down, and put it in the back bunker.  Get a gust, you are on the green.  Get a big gust, maybe front bunker at worst.  He tried to hit a normal shot and it ballooned to the moon.  Missed cut.  Pure CM mistake a Texas boy should never make.

Given his issues on 12 are we sure he's not an Aussie?😉

You would think he would have learned the lesson from 2016 meltdown at the 12th. Then again...Tiger made a 10 on that hole in 2020, even after 25 years of experience and 5 green jackets. If it can happen to TW after all these years, it can happen to anyone. That said, Tiger's incident happened on a Sunday when he was not in contention.

It's a good idea to play super conservative on that hole every day, but especially Thursday & Friday when you don't know if you will make the cut. Meltdown there can cost you the weekend, as it did for Jordan this year.

In some sense, the hole is a trap for those with the most talent.  They know they can hit the shot to get one close, but the chaos of how the wind funnels through that part of the course makes even the most well executed stock shot highly unpredictable.  A flighted shot minimizes the wind impact and generally takes double or worse off the table. It takes discipline for a pro to play for par/bogey.  Sometimes hard to do in the excitement of the moment.

I'm a vanity-2 which means I'm actually a 16.  I'm just tryin to impress the babes at the CC with my 2 index.

The babes don't care about a low handicap index, they are more impress if you can hit the big drives. Chicks dig the long ball. 😂

Does it count if you can hit it really far but 30 yards into the trees?  I might still have a chance at this

I think Liz should at least consider bringing Scottie into her stable of talent.  He's beginning to show some early signs of real promise.
