And that's why they normally play 72 holes.......then add up the scores!!!

But unfortunately of YJS, or OJS (your choice) they add up the score after 36 holes to determine if you get to stick around for the weekend.

I do have a legit question on the JS practice move. I’ve taken a look at it and it’s obviously something to do with the path. What is he trying to do? He’s got a forward slice move as well. I’ve seen a few players use this one for a fade practice.
If the practice swing before he hits the ball is to free up his mind if thoughts, it looks darn strange.

JS made it seem like this win wasn't enough to over-come the low of missing the cut at Augusta. Which is understandable since everyone folded and gifted him the win

Kinda' like Tiger's last Masters victory, no?

My guess is that his fault is a path that is too inside to outside, causing pushes and compensating hooks.  The strange move is his attempt to come through more on the target line.

It's interesting.  If you look at the swing of Bobby Jones, and to a lesser extent Sam Snead, they both take it back "inside", and then reroute a bit over the top.  But you hardly see it because they do it naturally, and they were so smooth.

It did seem like everyone else did what they could to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.  Lowry...WTF was going on there?  He's got to be on a bender this week.

True. In the Jones and Snead swings the club drops naturally as the weight begins to shift, but the inside out is not pronounced. Wasn’t he chasing distance as well and the problems started?
Live Jones swing, and he had to compensate for hickory shafts too.

Lowry should have won actually. Missed two real good chances to tie and win on 18. Golfs hard

Funny, that didn't seem to affect Tiger at all in 2019 when the same thing happened to his benefit at the Masters... 🤔

I love me some data but I have zero idea what that means lol.

I only call it the hit it and giggle because in all the interviews everyone says how relaxed it is, post masters, yadda yadda yadda. Plus Scottie Shuffler wasn't there so it was a grab bag for anyone

Not even remotely the same. Tiger's mere presence on the course caused them to lose their game, he is basically the bermuda triangle of golf when he is on.

My comment was a little tongue-in-cheek since a lot of you guys on this site seem to think Tiger is some sort of god. Which, by your comment, you nicely exhibited.

Tiger's experience played a much larger factor in his win than any magical force you imagine him to have. The 12th at Augusta can be a very difficult hole, demonstrated by Tiger's 10 a couple of years ago.

You never responded to the small wager proposal

I was speculating that it's extremely difficult to follow a big chunk of wins with even more wins.  Unless your name is Woods, keeping the momentum of winning, especially after a first major, has been problematic for tour players since the dawn of the tour.   And you took it literally, and now want to make a bet?   To your proposal, no thanks.

Missed the cut at Masters, but then totally redeems himself with this win. The guy just makes things happen at times. In reality, any of the pros can turn things around quickly if they just find something, albeit minor. For Jordan, I think it was his ball striking because he said at the interview that his putting was horrible this week. Perhaps any of the "what's up with" players on golfwrx may get some motivation from Jordan's win. 😂

He says it is to make a little more of a shallowing move in transition and then to remember to turn through.  He says it's an exaggeration of something he says may be an inch of difference in terms of his full swing.

It looks like he is trying to move to a  cut shot from his normal draw from that practice routine. However, his miss at the Masters was an over-the-top low pull hook. I didn't watch much of the Heritage, but from the looks of the shots I saw, he was hitting a cut. Looks like he got his ball striking in a better place at Heritage.

Maybe he needs to be more shallow to achieve it, I don't know enough to say, just know what he reported.

From the link.

'AVERAGE PLAYER QUALITY' columns summarize the distribution of player skill in each field. These values are expressed in units of strokes better (+) or worse (-) per round than the average PGA Tour field. 'AVERAGE' is the average skill, 'TOP 25%' is the average skill of the top 25% of the field, and the remaining columns are defined analogously (according to the column header).

'DIFFICULTY TO WIN' columns are estimates of the probabilities that certain "player types" will beat the field. 'EURO' is the win probability for a golfer who has the average skill level of European tour fields (i.e. skill of -1); 'PGA' is the win probability for an average PGA Tour player (i.e. skill of 0); 'TOP 5' is the win probability for a Top 5 player in the world (i.e. skill of +2).
