toulon putters

How did you get the weight out? I'd love to cut my Stroke Lab shaft down by 1/2 inch but assumed that getting the weight out would be a huge hassle. Or maybe it'd be the getting it back in part that would be a pain. I assume there would need to be epoxy involved.

To be 100% transparent, I got lucky cutting down the shaft! I play my putters roundt 33-33.5" and this started life at 35. Cutting it down 1.75" made me JUST MISS the weight by a hair. I actually forgot it was there, didn't remove the grip tape, and cut away. If I was to do it right I would use a little heat and then some pliers or vice grips to lock on the weight and pull it out.

I want a Chicago long neck from the Garage but GD they are not cheap when you look at them new. For now will have to enjoy the Garage Austin I picked up in the BST.

Yep, I am. Really nice putter. Once I got the weight amd specs figured out I was a able to find my stroke with it. My Spider does feel more stable, but I love the distance control with the Atlanta.

After using both the SL7 and Toulon Las Vegas for a week, the SL7 is hitting the classifieds!

I found the toulon just to be more responsive to putts of all distances. My SL7 was terrible for lag putting but lights out from 10 feet and in.

So many good putters out there but most good citizens will never buy a putter named for a place in California or NY. That would be bad mojo. Really narrows down the offerings but fortunately there are many other styles from which to choose. A putter should fit the player but the player has to have confidence in the putter, and the name.

I laughed when reading this. I guess there are some people out there like this, but in no way do most good citizens give a damn about the model name. Brand, sure.

The Epic Flash was one of the most popular drivers last year, and it sounds like a corny comic book name. Outside of the few die hard Northeasterners, nobody cares if a putter is named after a city in CA, or Texas, or Oregon.

Or maybe I'm just not a good citizen!

I somewhat agree. I'd still buy one if I liked it (haven't rolled a Toulon I like yet) but the naming based on cities is a turnoff for me. My preferred head shape would be the Austin, but the name is stupid and so is the cowboy/bandit logo imo.

At least the naming has significance behind them and the logo for each shows more. The other thing too is Scotty does the exact same thing!!! If it was an issues for anyone in the north east why are his putters sold east of the Mississippi or even outside of California for that matter? The naming is still better than some generic animal or military vehicle.

Side note been rolling all my putters deciding what to bring out for my first round and the Toulon San Diego just feels so nice but the Austin shape is becoming more appealing, may need to hunt for one.

I like the names makes them unique, if doing simple numeric it will have to be an alpha numeric naming for example ER1 or ER2 that Evnroll uses which would get confusing/boring/sterile.

  • 1 month later...

just fell in love with the Toulons. I’ve got an Atlanta and an Austin both with Stroke Lab shafts. They are the new full killed face ones I got Pre owned for 150 and 220. Having so much trouble choosing one since I fall in love for whichever I have at the time. First thought stroke lab was a gimmick, now I don’t think I’ll ever get a putter without it. For me, it’s better than a Scotty. I’ve owned at least 6 different scottys and loved them, but not in the same league as Toulon overall. Scotty (without the stupid insert like the 18-19 models) is better in feel, but Toulon kills it overall for me.

How light can you get their standard blades? I see a 7g weight plate but I dont know what their head weights are.... I like things around 320-330g

My Austin is 352g with the A7 and the lightest you can get is 348g with a plastic tour only plate. 320-330 is hard to get in modern putters but I think 340 should be stock A7 weight with 10g, 20g, and 30g plates offered

Good news for you that’s when Cameron actually made solid putters for lefties or someone who does custom makes for a fun project

Bought a 2019 Atlanta from Callaway Pre-Owned and waiting for it to arrive.

  • Grip : Toulon Design - Stroke Lab Pistol
  • Hand : Right
  • Head Type : Heel Shafted
  • Length : 35 in
  • Lie Angle : Standard
  • Putter Head Type : Mallet
  • Shaft Flex : Putter
  • Shaft Material : Steel
  • Shaft Type : Toulon Design Steel
  • Sole Weight : 20 Gram

Anyone know the weight of the grip it will come with?

I’m going to cut this down to 34” and put a 104cc Tour SNSR Contour on it.

I think the regular stroke lab pistol is 68gm and the oversized one is 84. The counter weighting is in the shaft on the Stroke Labs I think.
