They've been doing it since the 1970s.

 

The TPC IS the fifth most important single event of the year worldwide and the Fed EX Cup winner is a high priority for the pros, so I can see why they're included from the PGA Tour point of view.

So put the Tour Championship the week before Labor Day and the NFL, move the PGA back to August, bring back the Western Open and Westchester Classic to fill in the gaps and let the pros play for less money? Is that your plan?

TPC is a regular tour event, nothing to do with majors, even with the kewl new music and trophy...
