I hear you but I spoke with Fujikura directly and it sounds like tipping it reacts the same as all other shafts. Btw, I'm no where near mid to upper 120s...guess i need to hit the gym.

I'm looking to order the SIM, and am going to roll the dice with either the Ventus Black or Blue in a 6x. My SS is around 108-110. Last few years I've been a Diamana blue board guy, but have noticed in recent years it's been a little bit of a high launch/high spin combo for me, about 14-15 launch and 2700-2900 spin. Anyone tested the Black and Blue side by side and have and data/thoughts? Is my SS fast enough for the 6x Black?

Being rushed to place the order by a friend of mine, and deal is too good to pass up, would normally test first.

I am similar speed to you and ordered Sim with Ventus blue 6x. Was not able to hit the black so unfortunately can't compare. I suggest looking at the J13's WITB, he talks about the ventus Blue and tipping in his Shaft shootout. He eventually went a different direction, but had a lot of positive things to say.

I have played both and I am having the best luck with the black 6x uptipped. The blue seen to launch a tad bit higher and dispersion seem to be about the same. I end up going with a 7x blue in the fairway just a tad bit easier to launch.

I have been a low launch/spin shaft guy my whole life and have been using the D+ 70TX for the past few years. I got fit into the Ventus Blue 6x and was surprised how low spin it was for me. I know it isn't a comparison of the black and blue, but just my 2 cents coming from a lower launch/spin shaft

im around the same swing speed on normal days and I play the Ventus Black 6X. I have no problems with it. I also think going to be based on your swing. I load it aggressively and have a good AOA. No problems with getting the shots airborne. Also I have the Blue 6X as well. It was just a little higher ball flight for me but still great feeling and smooth. Just wanted a little lower and more roll. Blue was still plenty long. I would recommend the Blue for people who might want a little more help with a higher ball flight vs the Black as it’s a touch lower.

very stable. Love the 1 Piece feel that this thing gives. Very smooth.

mishits also are very forgiving. Seems like the ball stays online and I don’t lose a bunch of distance.

really enjoying it. Another month and should be on the course!

I’m in the 106-109 range, I was fitted the other day at Club Champion, and Ventus Black 6x straight in w/ sim max 10.5 gave me the best results overall. I hit it much better than the blue. Just because it’s a low launch shaft doesn’t mean you’ll hit it low. Same goes for a high launch shaft. I hit the Ventus black twice as high as the va nemesys and that’s supposedly a high launch shaft.

First round ventus black 7x 44.5 w a Sim head at 202grams. Besides for the few bad swings because I ran on 3 hours of sleep, I will say this shaft is incredibly stable. I'm usually a huge pusher of the ball. I had a little baby fade all day. Straight beast of a shaft.

Intrigued by this, but not sure if it would be much of an improvement vs. the Atmos Black. The stiff handle section is way more appealing to me than the Ventus Blue.

I’m playing Ventus Black 7X untipped @ 44.25” in a Ping G410 LST with 12g weight toe and 6g weight heel. Initially I had the heavy weight in middle and lighter in toe, but after experimenting a bit I went with heavy in toe and lighter in heel. I think if you get the swingweight down and head weight configured properly for you, there’s not a better shaft out there. IMO the biggest strength of the shaft is that you can absolutely go after it and it still holds up while maintaining accuracy, I don’t feel like I lose the club head or my timing. One of my closing holes this weekend was a 566 yard par 5. I had 213 in. Gonna be a fun year.

Hit my Maverik with the Ventus Black 6X today and my previous gamer the Tensei Orange CK 70TX.

I really feel i can put the hammer down with the Ventus and not loose it. Feels lovely and smooth. Launches higher than the Tensei Orange still need to look at Trackman numbers

First round out with the VB yesterday and the start was...kind of rough. Totally different feeling in the hands versus the Atmos Black, and I had a little trouble squaring it up. There were a couple of GREAT drives in there, especially with chilly winds, and I had a couple of quacker swings that didn't really go as far offline as I had expected.

I did some measurement when I got back home and noted that my VB build is about a half inch longer than the Atmos. Added length and swing weight was probably too much to adjust to right away and I plan to trim it some more to match my Atmos (which I have been driving so well with).

Ventus black is very counterbalanced as well. I have both built in driver at the same length and the swingweight if the Ventus is only 1/2 point more than the Tensei. The main difference is the Ventus black is must stiffer in the handle than the Tensei Pro Orange.

That is true for the heavier versions, yes. The Pro Orange is heavily counterbalanced throughout the line with heavier versions being slightly more so, whereas it looks like the Ventus Black is pretty neutral in terms of balance point in the lighter weights and more counterbalanced in the heavier ones. The Ventus Black 7x looks like it has the same balance point as a Pro Orange 60s, but the Pro Orange 70TX is higher. I would imagine that tracks to the heavier weights as well with the Ventus Black 8x being similar to the Pro Orange 70TX. The lighter and softer flexes in the Ventus however are much more neutral. All stiffer in the butt section though, you're right.

That makes sense- I was wondering why a ~.5" longer Ventus Black felt so light compared to a shorter Atmos Black.

I don't find the ventus black 7x to feel counter balanced at all. I had a tensei pro orange 70x last year and it was the most counter balanced shaft I've ever hit and hated it so sold within 2 weeks.
