as per my comment earlier in this thread, i will be taking all that out and just carrying...

x2 Taylormade TP5 (maybe i may buy a box of yellow ones to try, undecided yet)

x2 Cally CS (the new 2020 one when released, finally Cally have made a great ball to compete with Pro V & TP5)

X2 Srixon Z Star XV (yellow)

x2 Tiltliest AVX

all the others are getting the bums rush (out to practice bag)

I usually carry 3-4 sleeves and a few "the wheels have fallen off" balls for backups.

I amassed quite a few Top Flite Gamers at close out and plan to go back to them this year. I used urethane balls last year. The Gamers cost me about $0.50 a piece so the need to have shag bag balls shouldn't be needed anymore. I don't play firm golf courses and am a bogey golfer so I don't think I really need urethane cover golf balls.

I am horrible.

I have 2 sleeves of new balls. But on my side pocket i have about 8 balls i have been using the past 6 months. I only use a new ball when i lose all of those.

I wonder if thats hurting my game. lol

I use a old Burton leather bag too---- One of the kids at the bag drop remarked how light it was that it was lighter than most of these newer nylon cart bags--- I told him that was because I did not carry many balls. Some old geezer asked how many I carry. I told him 6 max. I told him if I lost more than 6 balls I was doing one of 2 things going to the range or going home. At this stage of life 99% certain I will go home

From the looks of this thread the importance of playing one type of ball seems to flown out the window. Maybe it's just me but I have a heck of a hard time getting any consistency around and on the greens using a different ball all the time.

I haven't purchased golf balls in years...my home course is littered with hazards and they are there for the taking.* Not only does it give me the opportunity to try a variety of golf balls, but I find a huge amount of ProV's. I have read about the benefits of playing the same ball all the time, but not paying for golf balls out weighs the benefit of playing one particular ball. That all said, I have enough ProV1x's that I can play that ball exclusively next season.

*For example, one day after a round I figured I would go look for golf balls. In a relatively short period of time I found 126 balls.

I’m with Sean2 on this one. Haven’t paid for new balls in years, find everything from “hit once” ProV1’s to older than dirt Spalding Dots. Can’t remember the last time i left the course with less balls in my bag than i started with.

Carry 3-4 and find another 8 to 10 during the round if i have to wait on the group ahead of me. I play Bridgestone, give my son the Titleist balls and donate the rest to area junior golf programs.

Basically carry an even dozen. I never bag found balls but give them to playing partners, "they're lost for a reason" you know...

Cold weather set up as follows; 2 sleeves Srixon Q Star Tour, 1 sleeve Srixon Z Star XV and 1 sleeve of some odd ball e.g. Precept Powerdrive, Bridgestone E12, etc.

I may lose 1 ball every 3 rounds and will remove "treed" and/or "cart path" balls.

The home course requires a cart, so I always play with a cart bag.

And always have at least 2 dozen balls in the bag. It makes zero sense at all. Weird habit from when I'd only been playing a few years and went on a golf trip to Myrtle Beach. We played 36 that day. I had a dozen balls that morning and was close to running out. I was literally looking for balls on holes 'just in case'.

Ever since then I didn't feel comfortable unleess I had WAY more balls than I need. I had over 25 balls in the bag on Sunday and only lost one.

I usually start with about a dozen. As those get lost, scuffed, etc, I try to add a new sleeve a week or so to the mix. Usually within 5-6 rounds I'm up to about 25-30 once I start finding the random ones. I generally lose about a ball a round or so.

Currently I have:

2 Dozen Titleist Pro V1s

2 Dozen Titleist Pro V1X

2 Dozen TP5 Pix

2 Dozen TP5x

One Dozen Bridgestone Tour B X

One Dozen Callaway Chromesoft X

One Dozen Snell MTB-X

One Dozen Srixon Zstar XV

(plus one dozen each on pre-order of the new bridgestone 2020 Tour BX and Tour BXS)

I might have a ball addiction problem, I recognize that. Furthermore, I haven't lost a ball in my last 5 rounds, (been using my favorite ball, which is the current Bridgestone Tour BX) and I cant seem to able to lose them (a good thing generally, but then I keep using "old" balls and like playing with brand new balls. I think I will just retire all used balls and give them to my friends, will also be giving away some of the dozens I dont use much, to my foursome (Srizon, Callaway, Snell).

Usually, I'll carry 4 sleeves. If I'm traveling, I'll carry 8-10. I don't want to be buying golf balls while on vacay or on business.

I just moved to an apartment next to a golf course and when people hit a bad hook off one of the tees the balls tend to land in a certain spot in our back yard. I have found about 20 over the last few months myself, and there’s a lot of other people that live here. Occasionally I will see one land while I’m out there and I am struggling with what to do...My mentality has been “it’s mine now, they lost it” (there’s a large fence so there’s no way they could get the balls back) but I contemplate throwing the balls back if I see them searching. I contemplate but don’t ever throw them back lol. What would you do?
