I’m not a hater, but those putters look ugly. I love ugly and different looking club concepts, but they are unplayable in my opinion. Good luck TaylorMade with trying to convince Walmart to buy all of the left over stock.

As mentioned copied Titleist Dead Center or Ashdon Golf Bermuda Triangle. Taylormade makes good stuff but this....unfortunately doesn't look its one of them....

Kinda looks like the Optic golf putters, but a lot uglier. To my eye, it looks awful small....but then again, I use a Cure RX2, which is like putting with a hockey stick

Nice to see Shiels calling out TM for their BS. To summarize his review, not only are they sh!te, the design is also a blatant copy (surprise!).

It's also hard to believe these are priced at £259 / $300. What a joke. These will be in the $50 clearance bargain bin within 6 months.

It’s undoubtedly true that the Truss is ugly, but without something more scientific than Shiels’ “I don’t feel that the Truss prohibits twisting any more than a standard putter,” we have no idea from that review what the truth of the putter is. Shiels should invest is some form of technology to review putters.

Shiels seems to be going back to his roots of calling it how he sees it, even if his opinion is just that. He played some Costco Callaway's and called them out because the clubs performed close to anything 3X its price.

I forget exactly how far behind the cheaper driver was - maybe 15-20 yards with his improperly fit shaft - but to get an extra 15-20 yards out of a driver you have to spend significantly more on R&D. Yes, the cheaper driver wins bang for the buck, but it won’t win if you just want bang. Does Shiels expect a driver twice as expensive to go twice as far?

The feel might be bad and the Truss is ugly, but is an honest review supposed to be lauded because Rick hit a few 20 footers and didn’t make any therefore the Truss concept is trash?

Rick could also do a more in-depth review or say nothing at all. A good review with no evidence is just as bad as a bad review with no evidence.

It sounds like you're looking for a more scientific approach from him, which is fine. There's certainly a time and place for those sorts of reviews. MGS do a good job with that, for instance.

However there's also some scope for more subjective reviews like this one. Shiels is an entertainer more than anything else, so bland reviews aren't really going to do it.

As it happens, I also suspect his views on the ghastly appearance of this laughably overpriced putter will be shared by many.

This is the titleist dead aim for 20 or more years ago. The patent is clearly dead so again TM revived another companies model as an INNOVATION.

What's weird is Shiels says this Truss design is BS (fair enough) but then says the triple track tech is "revolutionary" then misses the very first putt with it? I think he's just trying to generate clicks at this point. If he starts pissing off TM they'll black list him like they did to Crossfield, honest reviews or not.

With that said, TXG seems to like the results, say what you want about looks. I don't think Ian is the type of guy to blow wind up our bottom sides either. Yes, the TM machine works heavily off marketing but so do a lot of golf (and sports) OEMs. I try not to be bothered by what old tech is being revived... there's only so much you can do within the design rules.
