I think a lot of the BD stuff is unfair but wow, that was pretty pathetic and crybabyish. I'm sure he was thrilled with the camerman "following" him as well and ruining his brand.

Our guy Spieth had his mental game under control today. Whenever they showed him he was just playing golf. Hit it into some bad spots and just played his way out. Hit the ball solidly in others and was able to convert some birdies. No whining, no getting frustrated at himself or Michael. Lo and behold he's in contention. It's as though someone had a nice chat with him about his mental state out there, it's nice to see.

I just watched a little yesterday, so maybe I misunderstood. Jack was talking to somebody about lowering a fairway 15 feet and rearranging the way a creek runs. Just now, Jackie was talking about stripping the sod Sunday evening. That would be a massive amount of earthmoving, and I didn't hear what hole would be affected. My question: did I misunderstand, and what hole?

So who had YJS (70-70) clubbing Dustin Johnson (80-80) like a baby seal by 20 shots after the first two rounds of The Memorial? DJ's putting numbers were horrible. Well to be fair none of DJ's numbers were good in the first two rounds.

Jacks's interview saying he was going to make the course more playable for the members was interesting. The course is a severe test of high ball, long carry Golf and must be unplayable for anyone over single figures. 16th is an awful hole and should be ripped out. The proposed mods to 15 will be a bonus. That hole is so "over-designed" as to be gimmicky. On a positive BDC going into meltdown was pure comedy. Sam Snead's adage of when playing safe, play safe is still relevant. He could have punched an iron out, made 6 and been playing the weekend.

Totally. On the next hole, purposely walking in line behind the caddie so the camera doesn't see him, and then having the caddie block the camera is much worse for "the brand" then scoring a 10 and having some ruling debate IMO.

On one hand you want the fame and notoriety of being a top successful athlete and on the other you want the media to leave you alone during an tournament when you become unprofessional. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

You can be sure there are those in the television production team wanting more of this adversity covered the more BD freaks out, just for ratings of course.

I reeeeeaaaally tried hard to like Bryson, maybe partially because he's so hated on the internet and it's fun to sometimes see a controversial figure win. What's a hero without a villain, right?

 

He's really made it impossible. My god. He's insufferable.
