Deshamblah doesn't understand golf very much. I mean, I was a bomber when I was young and you get over it at some point when weird things happen, because a lot of weird things do happen when you pound the ball. Distance control is an issue swinging hard. Everything seems to go offline and don't forget about the ridiculous spin on things. The game of golf is about control, not power. Deshamblah isn't even close to Langer who hits it like a kid. Lesson to be learned. Too bad there wasn't a windy British Open this year. You'd see how bad Deshamblah's strategy really is. And while he occasionally hits it way past Rahm, look at the difference typically. Just isn't worth it. Deshamblah is one of those people who is smart but thinks he is smarter than everyone else which makes him kind of dumb....

The US Open begs to differ. Distance is worth it, especially when he has barely lost any accuracy. I’m sure all these other Tour pros are trying to emulate Bryson because they want to be worse at golf.

So the players are now putting tees in the ground so they will know where to  play their first shot in the morning. Won’t the mowers rip them out of the ground and throw them who knows where? What happens when you show up in the morning and your tee marker is gone?

But, I’d agree that perhaps BD has become overly obsessed with knocking the cover off the ball. Is it at the expense of equally practicing he wedge/short game?

But if you look at other guys who really kill the ball like DJ and Rory, it’s not the driver that holds them back.

 

Overall, he has put a valuable weapon in his arsenal. ICBM! But he definitely needs to perfect his close range assault capabilities to reach full potential.

I'm sure there is a guy standing there with white gloves on ready to pull the tee's and keep his eyes trained on the holes they leave as the mower approaches. It is Augusta, no eventuality is un-planned for.
