Ventus Counterbalanced shaft

Anyone have any info on this?  Any plans for Fujikura to launch?  Here’s a link and pic from last week in Hawaii of Landry using what looks to be a Ventus Blue CB Proto.

Any info anyone has?

With the heavy Ping driver heads they make sense. We will see...!

Ventura?! 😬🤣

Was a Tour Only prototype with a handful introduced in spring 2019, still some floating around on the trailers. You guys will be the first to know if we bring something similar to retail!

Oops!  Fat fingers!  Just saw that!

Very interested to hear more!

Personally I prefer to add head weight and still play at a fairly standard length or a little over, but also like a relatively light swingweight. CB shafts, heavier grips aid that.  I would definitely give a CB version a run.

Would be a nice choice for Ping players as another user said above.

I’m playing a Ventus Black 7x in my G410. I play that at 45” but I’m looking at having an longer length option as well. Would like to have something playing around 47.5” but with how heavy the Ping heads are I need something counterbalanced.

I would love to see this. As someone who has played several PING drivers, this is something that would be of interest to me. I’m not an engineer but I would assume the heavier head weight helps the head stay stable but drags club head speed for many. I would love the opportunity to see the difference made with a CB shaft.

@Fujikura Golf - thanks for participating in this forum. It’s great to be able to connect with the manufacturers!

I had a Proto CB but moved it before I put an adapter on it and cut.  I have a Blue 6x in my TSi3 at just over 45 inches and it has a similar feel/weight to a PX HZRDUS Yellow HC 6.5 at 45.25 and an AD-DI 6x at 45.

I’d be really interested in this. Alway had a lot of success with counterbalanced heads and since testing the Ventus Black and now playing the Blue in both driver and 3wd it would be a great option for heavier heads and even for “regular” weighted drivers.

Lots of CB needs for ping it seems! Also, you're very welcome!

Based on our specs they are 5 SW points apart with the VENTUS being less counterbalanced, which is not very close.

do you think this longer length trend will be around for awhile?

Built both Tensei CK Pro Orange 70 TX and Ventus Blue 7 X same length and same head and 50.5g grip and the Ventus blue swingweight was half a point less than the tensei orange. S3 data shows the Blue 7x at 25.37 balance point which is actually the same as they list the Tensei Orange as well, the Ventus Blue 6X has a lower balance point according to the data but haven't build one to know forsure. Noticing some counterbalance in the black builds as well but not as much. Finding with some people in fittings including myself that counterbalanced shafts and a little more weight in the head is actaully easier to find the middle of the face as well so if the CB Proto Ventus does come out I will forsure give it a try.

Length wise I can see some people going to something a little longer, golf balls and the MOI of driver heads has allowed people to go longer without sacrificing as much as it used to be, if VeloCore holes up on longer length builds then it may stay as well, but we shall see, Dechambeau seems to be pushing a lot of these new concepts but ONE length hasn't really taken off and he said he isnt actually using the 46"+ driver yet anyways so really hard to tell whats going to happen.

Ping just needs to finally get into the carbon fiber game and lighten their heads.

You can order lighter weights from Ping as well if you need to lighten it up or when ordering you can request a swingweight and they will do what they can to get it there.

Longer playing length is one of the reasons I'm interested in a product like this. Still have the question of total weight, but in the experimenting I've done at 47", a counterbalanced shaft might be enough to give a lighter head weight feel and make my builds playable.
